I just came across this shirt! What a blast from the past! I remember some of the names on the shirt and from the post. Hope everyone is doing good!

Anyone have a list of tracks/locations that are raced now? Would be fun to check out a race or two. A bit late in the season now.

I never raced in that era, but worked at Hudson Yamaha in '85 and '86. Used to practice with "JoeBoy" Joe Debiase. He was always so smooth. We all rode Crow Island too, along with the marshalls.

791, yeah I think so. I was a kid compared to most of the guys ripping Crow Island, in my KD125 that I wished was a KX.

I remember Kris. John Woods dad Roger was announcing. He and my dad shared the announcing duties. I was in that race. I remember that day well. I always wondered how you were doing. I went to visit you in the hospital. Are you still riding?

Wow... It's hard to believe this thread has been sitting idle for over 2 years now!
I thought anyone who participated in those epic NEMA/MAMA Challenge cups would get a kick out of this find over the past weekend.
Its a 1983 event shirt from the race at Broome-Tioga. It will be 39 years old this month as apparently it took place May 29th, 1983.
Also- fairly enjoyable (and now totally politically incorrect) are the flags designating North (NEMA) and us "hillbillies" from the South (MAMA).
My brother was cleaning my parents attic and tossed this into the dumpster this weekend. On a second thought and out of curiosity we opened up the trash bag to discover this shirt as well as event shirts from USGP's at Unadilla, race jerseys from our youth, as well as lots of surfing t-shirts (Billabong, etc) that your normal 80's kid would wear.
Sadly- the mice wizzed on most of it and most of it is pretty nasty to handle other then the joy of the brief trip down memory lane.
I also seriously doubt that this shirt would still fit me... In fact- I'm quite sure it won't... LOL!!
Those sure were some good old days, weren't they?

I don't remember those T shirts, but I definitely remember the race. 13 years old on a national track, I remember going up those hills on a KX80 and seeing nothing but blue sky. I went 1-1 in 80cc over 12 amateur and 3-3 in 105cc open behind Chris Fischer and Dave Antonucci (RIP). There wasn't a MAMA rider in sight. The next year was 1984 for the challenge race and that year was terrible, had a YZ80 that year, 'nuff said. Thanks for the post, good memories!

I dug up this thread last night, first time in over a year. Someone else did too, Crazy. This thread started in 2009, maybe the oldest on Vital?
