Sadly overnight James Bubba Chiasson passed away, he was only 45 but I'm sure everyone on here would have memories of him from Crusty Demons, he travelled to Australia a lot and I remember him commentating the Supercross Masters in 2002 at Sydney Superdome.

If anyone has any cool memories or stories you could share them below.

Flipped like a cheese omelette

Skits in motocross videos are usually terrible, Bubba might be the only exception.

45 cant be right, can it?

Crust 2 came out in 97 (I think crusty 2 was the first time we saw Bubba) which would mean he was 19 at the time. Maybe he was just a lot younger than I assumed.

I thought the same thing when I saw his age listed and I believe his listed age at his passing might not be correct.

Bubba actually raced our area- District 7 (Maryland/Virginia) in the early 90's. I believe he was from Virginia if I recall.

He was in my class at the time (250b) and was in reality- a really good motocross racer. We weren't real close but we were friendly and he was just always a super-cool and an all-around great guy that would lend- or frequently- just give you anything you needed that he had in order to help you out. I smashed my pipe one race and sure enough Bubba has a spare pipe for a KX-250 that he brings over for me to use for the day (and against him in the same motos). And he did go by "Bubba" back then too.

I might be shocked to find out he was really only 45- but I was in my early 20's when I knew him and he was about the same age as me or fairly close (I'm now 54).

Regardless of his age- I'm very sorry to hear of his passing and I'm happy that he got to go on and do so many cool things in the sport and beyond. Prayers to all his family, friends and fans... He was a good guy...

Bummer. 45 doesnt seem right to me either. I always thought he had alot of money as a kid to be able to take the z50 off the diving board into the pond

Bubba raced a hybrid sx type event at my local MX track Nunawading and district mx in melbourne - NDMX like  15 years ago always the showman crowd pleaser he had someone setup on the side of the track he would pull in mid moto for a hotdog was funny as.

Years later at the night of world records he hit like 150ft or something on his big ktm

what a legend, RIP
