You get free entry as a flagger, and it usually comes with an overnight camping/parking space, but this can vary track to track.

I doubt they'll have "Too many" applicants, I'd say your chances of getting the call are high. When I did it the entry, parking and or camping and food were comped. Good luck ! The only tips I have are to bring a camp chair, a small cooler with cold drinks and a couple snacks, sunscreen and chapstick, maybe an umbrella if it's super hot. During the race it'll be hectic and you won't have time for anything except paying attention, but being comfortable during the down time will make the day easier.

The way I did it was being a member of an organization. I'm a member of Florida Trail Riders and Daytona Dirt Riders and someone posted on Facebook that they were looking for flag crew members. I responded that I was interested, and the rest is history.

Sport cycles rockingham about 7600 all in. As I said 7-8k. Keep looking I’m sure you’ll find lower yet.

3/23/2023 5:58am Just filled out the application to flag, chose Budd’s Creek as my preferred track. Question for those who have done this, do they cover your track entry fee or get you parked without cost? On the application it asked about food allergies but that’s all. Either way I’m in if they ring my phone. 👍

McG194 is 100% right with his description of a SX flagging routine. Have flagged many SX races in So Cal thru the years. Many of those years were no pay IMO, it wasn't until an HR dept.member came to a race and realized the liability they were incurring which prompted the registration and payment for flaggers 2 tickets and a crew shirt along with a few beers were the old school payment. With a good organizer, we would get a pretty good BBQ before the main event.

Any given Pro Motocross National needs around 60 safety flaggers to help facilitate a safe racing environment. The last decade or so, some track organizers are struggling to meet even 50% of those needs, so I've set out to help recruit volunteers year round through a website I started. When I first saw it last night , I was thinking " Man , Barcia is on a mission to win tonight " He was so jacked up in his podium speech , and that pic just says everything... Whipped completely flat , throttle pinned , leg dangling off the back , and probably ready to do another 100 laps if need be. The guy is nuts and I love it haha!

So if you are a privateer and can put it in the main. You stand to make a extra 800-1500 for a 15-16;place. Yea I can see why you would ride green. Good for Kawasaki to offer up some good coin for the weekend warriors.

I don’t see how you can’t be a fan of Webb, or at least respect him. He gets the most of what he has, rides smart, and never quits. And no bullshit excuses when he gets beat. Guys like that are great for the sport.
