I didn’t know Joe on as much of a personal level as most of you guys did, but that man is who kickstarted my love and passion for building a bad ass garage. Always enjoyed seeing and reading his posts about his garage projects.

Loved his posts whether it be about bikes, cars, food, booze, and everything else. I randomly Photoshopped this for him just for fun (I did 3 but this is the easiest to find). EDIT: Would love to know if the RX-7 is still part of the family.😌

Some real solid dudes who were members here have passed and I'm thinking that maybe ML can add a Vital Wall of Remembrance, a place for us to commemorate, and preserve the memory of guys like Newmann, Scotty and some others.

Right on!! Joe was my buddy—-he seemingly was a lot folks “buddy.” How could anyone not like the guy? Only GuyB… I too was banned many moons ago by The Gibber. I also run the JN13 stickers and will until I quit. I stay in contact with the family and consider them part of my own. Miss ya, Joe—a lot of us do.

Count me in as a Joe fan too. At some point I had posted something here about restoring an 81 YZ250 and having trouble finding a certain discontinued part I needed. In spite of me never communicating with Joe in any way at all, he messaged me and said he had the part if I still needed it. As other's have said, I wanted to pay him for it , but he refused to take anything. Instead he said "maybe you'll have a part I need someday". Sad to know that I won't be able to repay his generosity.

I miss Joe a ton. There's not a time I see my projects and don't think about him and the many swaps and great exchanges of help we shared, pretty one-sided benefiting me to be honest. Still have my text threads with him over that last weekend after he was admitted.

He was kind to all, and very helpful to strangers (I was one of them). Great thread, RIP Newmann 🙏

Newmann was one of the best. He helped me on several bike rehabs. He sent me a complete new plastic kit for a YZ50 and refused payment. They don’t build them like him much anymore.

I've been here a fair bit, don't post as much now. Newman was definitely one of the good ones, RIP.

Romano just turned 21, it's not like he's coming out of retirement. Temmerman and Fedortsov are both hurt I believe and only a year or two younger. Doubt either of them want to ride for what Romano is probably getting paid either.

The Japanese are respectable people. An American family would learn a lot from visiting that culture. Humble people from all walks of life, MMA. motocross. Japan is the best of Asia in my opinion. They are righteous people. Most my buddies from Japan remind me of my Hawaiian friends. Good morals

Keefer knows what he’s talking about and could explain it to a 5 years old so…gotta disagree with ya there. Some people are amazing testers and articulate the changes in a way the team can understand which is an invaluable skill. The guys building the suspension and components likely haven’t won races either. That doesn’t mean they aren’t the best person for the job. There’s a reason coaches and trainers at the highest level of every sport aren’t often (see hardly ever) past champions of their respective sport.

Tickle has a bunch of 450 podiums indoors and out, plus a 250 title. He's more than qualified to test bikes for Chase.
