But when you rev the bike, the rotating weight of the crank changes how the whole bike behaves, how it corners . and how it behaves in the whoops. Why do you think they ride whoops in 4th gear ? Again, this is basic science principles, not rocket surgery, saying you just have to rev it more is great for anything that goes in a straight line, but the instant you need to turn it, it changes everything , just like when you go to mousse tyres, the extra weight makes a difference because it is rotating mass. Kenny and...

I am hopeful that Chase will get there, even if it takes a little longer (just like at Honda and KTM). He and Jorge may have similar issues in setting up a bike with a good window to work in (of course, the difference is that Chase doesn't just abandon ship immediately). Jorge always had Cairoli to establish a really...

I raced for factory Kawasaki in Europe. On the first day I got to ride the factory 500 the first thing I and my mechanic went to do was adjust the rear sag. However, we were told by the senior team mechanic not to touch it as the “sag has already been set”. He went on to explain that it had been ‘set’ when the shock was built on the basis of winding in ‘X’ mm of spring preload.

Test track at 5, that's the end of Broc's day and the test day. But there's more work after it for the team.

Getting to the race shop at 7am, loading up and heading to test track by 7:30. Arrive at test track around 8:15-30. Start riding around 9:00-15. Test until 5pm. Then drive an hour back to the race shop. 6pm...unload and wash. Into race shop bay around 6:30-45? Start pulling suspension off, parts, wheels, whatever needs to be prepped for next day. Suspension is being torn down or swapped, etc. Before you know it the techs have been at it until 7pm...8pm...9pm before they leave the shop to go home. A few people on the team have mentioned not leaving the...

I’ve gone on a few rants the past year or two about the insanity of SoCal tracks, lack of split practices, poor etiquette of other riders, and straight up dangerous practices such as trainers riding with no gear or helmets to show their “students” how it’s done. Or, in this case, letting training groups basically override a track and cut it all day. Go Elsinore, go.

Brilliant! I think that everyone can learn from Broc and Kawasaki in that respect. It's possible to 'win' by talking rather than staying silent and ignoring everything.

I love Broc. I like when team personnel aren’t afraid to be honest about a bike’s shortcomings. He was very open in this but in a respectful and honest way. Makes me respect him and the team even more.

Here’s the Broc Tickle interview that I did about their riders’ settings/struggles. I think he was more open than most… It’s available on all podcast platforms!

The sector 7 included the whoops section in Arlington, and we can mathematically compare Cole's speed to the other competitors over the course of the round. Practice 1 : 5.863 = Cole Davies +0.313 = Cade Dudney +0.341 = Malcolm Stewart +0.342 = Dylan Ferrandis +0.387 = Pierce Brown +0.411 = Jordon Smith +0.436 = Garrett Marchbanks +0.465 = Hunter Lawrence +0.503 = Ken Roczen +0.516 = Justin Hill Practice 2 5.981 = Cole Davies +0.070 = Jordon Smith +0.163 = Ken Roczen +0.246 = Hunter Lawrence +0.248 = Jason Anderson +0.256 = Drew Adams +0.315 = Cade Dudney +0.371...

Chase is a great rider who places a lot of trust on the front of his bike and perhaps doesnt know how to tune it himself or change up his riding style to adapt to it. Kawasakis are not known for great front end feel and feedback and his move to Kawasaki surprised me a bit because of his style. I hope they figure it out soon and he adapts to steering with the rear a bit more. I’m thinking he needs to be on a Suzuki for us to see his full potential

I don't want to be overly negative, and I know this topic is beating a dead horse. The truth is that I think a lot of people appreciate a split-screen (2 box) at moments in a race, but the execution is not good. The images I've provided here are a quick and dirty possible solution. Image 1 (top left): An original screenshot from the actual broadcast. I show rough sizes of the screens for a 75-inch display (which is what I watch the races on). The Blue background takes up around 33.9% of the screen (wasted space) Image 2 (top...

Why would you carry on at that point, other than to roll round and get in the way, and risk crashing again. When you consider what he is having to ride, i think he has been OK. This is a guy who got tossed in 250 , racing half the guys, in half the races. What else were you expecting.

I found it interesting that Hunter's bike looked really twitchy in the waning laps at Arlington when the track got choppy, but he adjusted his riding, plowed forward (and kept sending the quad!), and basically kept ET3 at bay and won. I'm a bit worried that Chase doesn't seem to be able to do that....it's concerning.

Not taking any sides, but Headcases like Chase are WHY people like Roger D get rigid with the window. He doesn't know what he wants and apparently can't communicate it well. Not saying teams should be so rigid, but it becomes a self reinforcing thing bc the tech nerds don't want a rider thats stuck in his feelings to lead them on a wild goose chase. The more clear and articulate and specific and convicted a rider is the more likely the team will bend. Lewis Hamilton struggles because he gives shitty feedback. Max verstappen excels partly because he gives...

Darren Lawrence said something along the lines of it being harder to test with Jett because after 2-3 laps he starts to adapt to whatever change they made. I could see how this could make testing difficult but would definitely be a benefit come race day.
