Ain't that the guy who'd make Prado "ridiculous" if given his KX?
😏
Why would you carry on at that point, other than to roll round and get in the way, and risk crashing again.
When you consider what he is having to ride, i think he has been OK.
This is a guy who got tossed in 250 , racing half the guys, in half the races. What else were you expecting.
He was running 11th or 12th when he went down. Hated to see him fall, but he has shown signs of improvement.
Just that riders bitch and moan for a shot at a factory ride and when they get it their “drive” takes a nosedive.
The look on his mechanic’s face was like “ you saying you’re done”?

He always been a bad starter. Pretty much doing the same just not working through the pack now.
Done picking him in fantasy. Seems like it's always something 🤷
Kawasaki. Let the good times roll.
😄
Kawasaki “where careers go to die” or “get out while you can”
Every week gives more validity to Prado’s comments last year. For the life of me , I cannot figure out what could affect the riding of all three riders , who have distinctly different styles.
Yep! That's it! Prado is 49 points ahead of Chase! Sorry I got it backwards. I guess I'm not a hater of any of them! Give Garrett some time! He will be good!
I always heard that he was a bad starter because he was a bigger dude on the 250. Am I misremembering that?
He'll figure it out. Marchbanks is a good rider and certainly seems to put in the work, but this has definitely been a tough transition to 450 SX. Definitely something going on with the Kawi's at the moment, so that's not helping either. He'll be much better outdoors as well since he already has 450 experience there.
But I find the power adaptation of riders between little and big bikes pretty interesting. Personally I have always felt more comfortable on 125s and 250fs than 250 two-strokes or 450s, despite the fact that I'm 6'3 and 190+ lbs with gear on. However, I know plenty of riders smaller than me who are far better on 450s. And I think it's interesting that those preferences and power affinities continue even into the pros.
Look at Colt Nichols or Shane McElrath. Proven winners in the 250s, yet only B-team status in 450s. But then Chase Sexton really never figured out the 250 until his last few races on them. Then moves to 450s and is an instant threat. Then there are the guys like Savatgy and Hunter who had their initial struggles but are both definitely beginning to figure it out. Okay, Hunter already has it figured out, he just needed to believe it.
So what bike was Chase riding when he won or going through the pack? I did think Garret would be doing better in sx but the field is really rough. I would not write him off I till we see his outdoor results. It’s funny people say how bad the bike is who are the same people who say 450 class you just need a pipe and suspension.
Cowabunga dude
Right now Garrett’s been in that 11th-14th slot, which might seem a bit underwhelming on paper, but considering about everyone in front of him has a title or some sort, he’s about where he belongs in SX
Is that how you negotiate your next contract. You tell them I can run 13-15 before I quit the race and pull off.
You can guess how stupid I feel after having that thought.. Though I never expected Marchbanks to have such a rough one, I hope he gets up there again outdoors and can match his results on the 450 Club Yamaha at least, otherwise it's back to 250s after this year I'd assume?
