Just read some sad news about the passing of famed announcer David Stanfield. Not sure of the details, just thought I’d share as in my opinion he was a very talented and enthusiastic announcer, with a legendary voice. Rest easy Mr. David Stanfield. Please share some photos and stories of David if you have some. https://www.instagram.com/p/Dep01ZAGVtP/?xtok=MTBudnFtbWxmbDZrag==

The race sexton went to was basically in his hometown, minutes away from where he lived and had a track in his yard before moving to florida. I promise you his sponsors didn't care one way or the other if he was there. The winning 2 races thing as being evidence that the bike is fine is hilarious to me. Jett won 4 outdoors this year, does that mean everything was fine? Both achieved well below their ceiling and it is silly not to consider the causes of that.

This year has reminded me...and I'm sure I'm not alone...that Jeffrey Herlings is simply amazing. This last weekend was just a reminder.

I spent 5 months in 2019 traveling with the Lawrence family. My rider and myself were doing the outdoor Nats and we and the Lawrences would camp together and share resourses. It was then that I got to know how much of a good family they are. Dazzy is such a down to earth dude and is what I call a first class human.

Chase Sexton. I’ve always felt like he is the “chosen one” to beat Jett. But just hasn’t yet more than once. I’m still hopeful. Worried? Yes, skeptical? Yes. Disappointed? Yes Still hopeful

I love feel good stories. I never really have 1 guy to root for. These riders take so many risks every week for my entertainment, for me they can all win Farres winning the MX2 World Championship after all his injuries Kenny winning his first 450SX title after all his injuries (even though Hunter winning it would have been wonderful too) Jett winning outdoors last year after his knee injury Davies coming from NZ and winning his way into the pro ranks Herlings winning another title in his first year on the Honda and multiple injuries last few years Febvre...

LoL, no need to worry about some team looking "bad". Based on your consistently utra-negative posts on various riders...you should prolly be more worried how you're the one looking bad, unless looking like a troll is really your goal here.

Its a tough call, because these guys are monetizing content, that they are not paying for access to. As an organiser, would you want people making money off your work when they have no dog financially in the fight? That is what accreditation means, that you are a legit news/publisher to be allowed to gain access to events. I dont see what is controversial about that . Our Organiser here tried to do the same 3 or 4 years ago, and it went badly, but honestly, when these people are doing nothing to help promote the event prior, but then...

Yeah there was an anticipation of getting a cycle news or MXA that made that made the read so enjoyable in the 80's. You didn't get much, so what you got was precious. Now I listen to podcasts on bicycle rides or commuting and hear the same overlapping opinions if I listen to more than one. Hard to find an original thought amongst the multiple media choices. But, outstanding content like Matty's still draws my attention.

Why would TBI on a two-stroke be any less reliable than on a four-stroke? All modern 250,350, and 450 models have fuel injection and for the most part are pretty reliable.

Sexton has been posting pictures from back home in Illinois at fair races and the track he grew up on and riding bicycle down country roads surrounded by corn that needs to be picked..... don't care what anyone says or where he ends up he's a real one and I'm always going to root for that guy.

I've been following Nate Ferderer for a few years now. He's back at the Six Day, riding a YZ125 this year. As an aside, on one of his Email Posts, he put up some figures of the cost of going this year. Some hard numbers, some estimates, but, I'd say the numbers added up, just near or over $21,000 USD, will be less than his eventual 'spend'. It included the purchase of the second hand YZ125, and the maintenance / mods he paid for - while getting some help from a (few?) parts sponsors. In his 2nd last post, he...

The advantage the Lawrences have isn’t that there’s two of them, it’s that they are brothers AND they’ve been brought up with a strong sense of family. Each is as heavily invested in the other's success as their own. No individual riders are going to share with and support another elite rider on a team the way the brothers do. It just can’t be replicated by throwing two guys together.

I've said it over and over again, Once you're over here racing in the United states of America, you're an American motocross racer. Your country of origin doesn't matter to me at all.

Coop and Deegs represent the old and new American spirits perfectly. The modern American spirit is to be boisterously selfish, whereas the old American spirit is more about a humble national pride. They're both welcome to do their thing and we're welcome to feel however we feel about it. However, I wish the US and EU series would align their schedules such that the last round of both is the MXON, then there would be full funding and full motivation and we'd get a real showdown.

I'm not going to fault this years team for a lack of spirit, they had a tough job, sacked up and tried their best. I don't have a problem with foreigners coming here and dominating the American series, who wouldn't dream of racing supercross here. Our motocross series is great too, maybe a step below MXGP but it's no joke. The lack of dominant Americans riders in the American series is concerning. It's not for lack of resources, training facilities, home schooling, amateur team contracts. The foreigners that do come here and dominate don't have much of a more aggressive...

And DeCoster's story is the most American thing I can think of...he's an American hero for me and my crew. His son was a U.S. Marine, and the family embodies the true idea of the American melting pot.....DeCoster is "The Man", and it did my heart good to see the Coenen bros show so much respect and understanding of history...
