I don't think we will see any changes in the rules. I also don't think that e-bikes will be viable for consumers until you can get almost an hour of runtime, and they weigh about the same as (or handle as well as) current bikes. When I go ride, I do a 35 minute moto, break for 30-40, then another 35 minute moto. I want an e-bike really bad, mostly because of the ease of maintenance. But if it does not perform at least as well as my current ICE, and/or cannot handle those time-frames, I am out.

The design is engineered and tested to say the 90th percentile use customer. Racing for 30+ minutes at professional speed, with race gas, and in 100+ degree ambient is called a corner condition. Design engineers at the OEMs would be aware of the failures that are occurring, but it's not a large enough failure rate to drive a design change down to the production parts. It's more likely that they will make some modifications to the gas cap and vent design for race team use only. So yes, it is the design, but it comes down to cost and what's...

Credit where credit is due: Mad Diesel Bomber's Photoshop's were epic (and need a return farewell appearance) The Blue Pig gang was so effective that Yamaha finally ditched Keith. The GP guys never bought the story. Star never bought the story. Tests and reviews never bought the story.

That might be the worst marketing concept for an MX/enduro bike I could think of. Take the lowest selling, last in tests bike and re-brand it.

I'm sure it's the age old pro vs con on - what do they owe me? Vs What will I pay a lawyer to win me what they owe me? Let alone the "sponsors" who pledge almost 6 figures, then offer to give you screen time on the reality show they're pitching to TLC in lieu of the money they promised you pre-season..... on yeah, and that "sponsor" will show up at an SX round with an entourage looking for the red carpet treatment, even though they haven't pitched in a red cent yet

Keep this sport where the insiders are the only ones that get the true story and this is what will keep happening. So as long as you keep broing down with your industry buddies with no morals and make fun of us keyboard warriors for trying to figure out what really happens in the sport that we spend thousands of dollars supporting, forgive me for not shedding a tear to riders and team owners that get taken advantage of

Well actually it is not such a big deal and it can be solved quickly with a WCL sticker on the bike or the truck. Let us just say WCL helped funding the FXR team as a sponsor. It is not like he took the money and ran to Bahamas. If that situation happened, it is probably because the team was in a deep hole sometimes. The mounts doesn't cost billions to make either (probably a few bucks tbh because the machine is already programmed), so his former partner can't bitch too much if he want to keep the business...

Outstanding write up TG. I will add that I saw this up front too quite a few years back. A friend tried this, seemed to get lots of commitment. Get the truck wrapped and the sponsors don't come through. Free advertising for the fake sponsors. There is a lot of sketchy people in the industry that talk a good game. I see quite a few parallels to the music industry and kids trying to make it. A lot of talk with under delivery.

The only disclaimer I'm gonna make is this: This ain't none of our business; but, it needs to be said...so, go grab a cup of coffee or a beer and read all of this and then lay in to me/rant as you see fit. Let's begin... Since everyone loves to pile on & seldom knows much about what they're talking about other than the crap they join in on from the angry minions that scream via their key-boards, phones & iPads...yes, they only know what's goin' on in their own little world & that's fine. Hell, that's fair. Based on...

Testing bike with heaviest and oldest 450f motor doesnt make sense. If they want to be in 2022 not in 2012 they should have taken KTM engine.

So, with all the choices, they are using suzi? Lol at triumph.... they are a mc manufacturer, They should be making their own engine.... something new school and next gen.... not suzi.... good grief, triumph is basically doing the opposite of what they should be... there is a reason none of us currently ride triumph.... they haven't had it truly together for nearly a half century....
