FoxTrav Added a reply to VP U4.4 stank
8/3/2023 2:49pm All of the VP blends that contain MTBE for oxygenation carry a stronger odor like that. If you want something more tolerable like VPR, avoid that additive. Although they typically won't be as good quality of blend. I'm not sure what ETS uses in their pro stuff, but that's on a whole other level of stench. A rep did say...

6/12/2023 9:03am VP's C10, MS100, MS109, MRPRO6, RX96, SV-05, T4 would all be decent options. Check their fuel tables below to review spec's. https://vpracingfuels.com/master-fuel-tables/

11/23/2022 9:34am I know this is a 100LL thread, but here's an interesting Leaded vs Unleaded writeup from Renegade for those who need clarification.

11/23/2022 9:28am Dont be fooled by the high octane. Its high octane because of the lead which is the cheap way to make octane. The right way to do it is a good blend….. race gas.

11/17/2022 11:18am ETS PX11 is what we have run and trust. Super stable and makes really good power gains. We have run it in both the YZ125 and YZ250 on the dyno and on the track at Straight Rhythm and Two Stroke Nationals. We were racing against 150's on a YZ125 and would say we more than held our own. 11/16/2022 1:30pm MRX02 can't be beat for power gains in a 125, unless you play with Q16. But that's mostly used for drag with very high oxy and you'd have to jet up to the moon. The octane rating is also wayyy beyond what you'd want and would need to drain right after use as it's very corrosive on parts. I know...

11/8/2022 9:35am Jesus I wrote a post like this when I was your age exact same question and story. I went for a KTM150 2012 model, I liked it a lot especially the ergo's im also 6ft anyway, I love my power however when I rode my friends YZ125 and honestly preferred it, it felt much more planted and the power delivery was much smoother it had much punch at the bottom then revs out decently where as the KTM150 rips to the top it, but this is comparing a 2012 model KTM I don't know what the current ones are like...

11/8/2022 9:33am He’s 170lbs and the new ktm 125s make close to 40hp. You guys were mentioning his weight like he’s 240lbs. 125s are what Moto should be. They are pure fun. Get one.

11/8/2022 9:30am Get a KTM 150, jet it, run quality fuel from a consistent source and upgrade the forks to KYB cartridges. I have a buddy who's about your size (a few pounds heavier), late 30's... He had a Honda 450F. I loaned him my YZ125 in 2021 for the two stroke race at Washougal and he never rode the 450 again. He bought the 150SX and he's having more fun for more laps. The 450 was riding him after about three hard laps. I own 125, 250 and 500 two strokes. I race them all and have time on all brands...

11/8/2022 9:23am Brent Duffe posted this teaser yesterday of Haiden Deegan's bike with all blue plastic on it. The am side will run that look this year with Deegan (until Nationals I would guess) and with Daxton Bennick. https://www.vitalmx.com/features/All-Blue-for-Monster-Energy-Star-Yamah… I threw a pole in the feature if you'd like to vote.

11/1/2022 11:45am Back in the 90's & early 00's it was Elf Race Fuel + Synthetic. Still smells great nowaday, but they've had to reduce the aromatics due to FIM reg's(made in france), so not nearly as strong smell. I prefer vp mrx02, u4.4 or ETS's px11 now with Motul 800 or Klotz. Wish vp mr2 was still produced, that stuff was...

11/1/2022 11:39am I used to run VP113 mixed with Motul800 and it created a very unique smell. All my racing buddies loved it. When I switched to VP110, it didn't have the same smell. The VP113 is oxygenated, the 110 is not. Only reason I switched is because my local vendor quit carrying the 113.

11/1/2022 11:37am If cost doesn’t matter, VP MRX02 (or the soon to be released MRX03) with Maxima K2 or Yamalube R is what was common in the early 2000’s for nostalgia of that era. If you like the highly aromatic, sour smelling exhaust.

10/12/2022 1:47pm I was building bikes back then and it was devastating watching a top rider ringing the neck of a highly tuned 125 for all he was worth, just to stay in front of a normally top ten rider on a stock 250f with a pipe. The 450 take over of the old 250 class happened a little slower, but it was still the main reason I exited the industry in 2005. The cheater bikes were fast and easier to ride, but will never be more fun.

10/12/2022 1:46pm Aided by a double displacement rule for the former 125 class, and a 1.75 times displacement rule for the former 250 class. When advantages such as those are given, well, the market / customers will take them. With those rules, it was a foregone conclusion that 4 strokes would take over. One of the most idiotic and destructive things to happen in Motorcycle Sports.
