Ive had an RM250 for awhile now that PR2 did some porting/head work to and requires high octane fuel. They recommend C12, which is what I have been running. I now have two kids who love going to the track and going for rides around the yard on it. I’ve always had the concern about the leaded fuel around them in the back of my mind.
I have easy access to VP fuel so I’d like to stick with them, but I’m not aware of any fuels they make that are unleaded and would work well in a two stroke. I was considering just getting MR pro6 or even T4, but I don’t think the octane is high enough. Cost isn’t a huge issue as I don’t ride much and could probably get a whole season out of 2 five gallon pales.
Maybe I’m overreacting a bit, I have no idea if the amount of lead in our fuels are enough to be problematic, or if the amount of fuel the bike burns releases enough to be harmful. I’m sure the oil the bike burns isn’t that great either, but just trying to be cautious. Definitely would appreciate some input!
I think the lead is the main anti knock component? I have similar work that requires race gas and even at the higher octane it didn't seem to fix my detonation with regular high octane fuels, but when I started running c12 50/50 it did. Hopefully aoke knowledge folks chime in, id rather use something without lead too
Depends what you mean by "2 stroke fuel", but there are a bunch of VP fuels without lead. Check out this link and see if you find one that might suit your needs:

Edit to add: I would ask your engine builder what octane the engine requires. I would guess it doesn't need 112 octane.
You're overreacting Two Strokes need lead just don't Hot Box yourself in the garage or stand directly behind the exhaust all kinds of toxins in all fuels it's all common sense.
No sorry for got to specify they recommended a 50/50 mix with 93. I’m sure there’s probably not enough lead to cause issues, it’s not like I’m running it in the garage with the door closed lol. But I really don’t know so I’d like to hear what everyone’s thoughts are or hear from someone knowledgeable on the subject.

Yeah that was kind of my though as well. I tried doing a little research on it but all I can find is info on how terrible lead is and how harmful it was when it was being used in automobiles, but we’re talking about a little 250cc dirt bike engine, not some old V8.
Enjoy the bike and run what fuel mixture PR2 said it'll make your ride days much more enjoyable have fun!
Two strokes don't need lead, they just need a good consistent fuel with enough octane not to knock. Lead is one way to get there but there are numerous other options. I usually run leaded 110 leaded but have run a few unleaded options as well, especially when with the kids. One of the stations near my place has I think 100 octane unleaded on a pump. My bike runs fine on that.
You could always get another head and have it cut for pump gas. Save the race gas head for track days.
FYI I've got kids and I too don't want to expose them to lead but I'm not worried about occasional race gas fumes.
There are some VP fuels, maybe that pro6... something in those fuels absolutely stinks and if your garage is attached it will smell the house out and it's nasty stuff.... so sometimes the alternative is worse lol.
VP's C10, MS100, MS109, MRPRO6, RX96, SV-05, T4 would all be decent options. Check their fuel tables below to review spec's.

Pump gas and octane booster maybe? Some of the high dollar VP blends have very short shelf life from my understanding.
Not if kepted in there none vented steel pals.
Do you have access to 100 unleaded avgas?
If you are just putting around and not getting on it hard, just run pump gas even though your motor is set up for race fuel. It only needs the better fuel for when under a load.
Run the leaded fuel when you are riding by yourself or track days
2 strokes do not need lead
