Just thought I'd pass this along: Steward Baylor discusses testing the Kawi two-stroke - On the Pipe Podcast. More off-road relevant, but certainly good info and insight on the new bike: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb2SUY7zoHM Relevant talk begins just after 3 minutes in.

I go to the one in Ocoee sometimes. I wish it was closer. It’s crazy how many public skateparks and pump tracks there are nowadays compared to 20+ years ago. Edit: took me 5 tries to upload a pic from my phone. Hopefully only 1 shows up.

So it would go aomething like this: 14 classes have more than a full gate, so it would be 28 races in the first rotation of the tace order, plus 3 classes that are not full, then 14 lcq races, so 45 races total to get through the first moto, then 17 races for the second and third. It takes a good part if the day to qualify it down, and that is without lightning delays or track work. I have worked regionals where the track was long enough that they stagger started the two divisions, but the track better...

If you wanna get to supercross, you need to practice pitting out of the hood. I think the track should be able to charge more for the pro SX Prep conditions.

Serious question, how much effort does the AMA put into helping Harley riders not wear helmets versus keeping tracks and trails open for us. I have ridden for 50 years, and have repeatedly been told to support the AMA, yet I fail to see them put any effort into my end of the sport. I worked with my states department of natural resources and the AMA didn't even return phone calls, emails, letters, etc.. What do they do for dirt riders in a practical sense besides enforce rules at races. Do dirt bikers need our own organization?

In 1998 I was working in a bike shop in Davidson, NC, when this little dude comes in with a Yeti mountain bike that had Sue Fish's name on the top tube. I asked him where he got it and he said John Parker (Yeti Founder) is a friend of mine. I asked who he was and he said Kevin Atherton. He had stepped away from the dirt track circuit to get his shit together, and we did a bunch of riding and partying that summer. He told me he had some buddies that needed work done on their bikes...

I saw Brandon Hartranft at Nobu in AC a few summers ago. It was after his accident — I was so stoked to see him out with his family, walking, and looking healthy. I anonymously sent a drink to his table. I didn’t want to bother him, but I wanted him to know that the moto community was pulling for his full recovery. He ended up figuring out who sent him the drink, and he and his wife came over to thank me. Then we welcomed his whole family to have a drink with us — they were really great...

Did some Easter Egg hunting with Fro at Irvine Park years ago - Always a really nice guy and really excited to talk about MX/SX My wife had Ricky Johnson come in to speak for her class - she didn't know who he was at the time, but he was cool Mike Bell's son was a student in her other class - Mike was very nice. She still keeps up with his son Met Reedy at BMX Grands in 2020. He was just a dad helping his kids race BMX

Sometime around January or February 2000 when I was still living in CT, I rode my snowmobile up by Doug Henry’s property during a snowstorm. I was only 20 years old at the time. I was careful to not be too obvious, but maybe since I was on a Yamaha that looked like the one’s he was racing in Sno-X at the time, he actually came outside to greet me. Ended up doing a couple laps with him on his moto track out back, which he had been using to practice Sno-X. I was also racing sleds at an amateur...

I saw Ryan Hughes at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I...

I thought for a second there JT$ was gonna jump in and save the day. Would have been pretty funny if someone held a pit board up for the struggling mechanic that had "Breath" written on it. 😀

Check it three times and you will be much lower. One should not check the pressure in a shock. One should inflate it to a certain pressure. Shock bladders hold a TINY amount of volume. It's not a car tire that one can check, check and recheck with very littl loss in total volume.
