8/20/2026 6:36pm Short update on the New Beta. Now around 7-8 Hours on it and it runs very good. No really concern except loose Spokes and flat rear Tire , but I think they use the cheapest tubes the can get. Upgraded it with a Full FMF Exhaust , not that i need more power but nothing Sounds better than an Old Style Powercore2 with a Fatty Pipe . The FMF pulls the gears a Little longer from mid to top but lost a little down low . Today i rode the Beta back to back with my Old 360 KTM, Engines...

8/14/2026 9:02pm From what I've heard, the cylinder/piston on Yz250s last a very long time. For that reason, I would go with OEM. If you had to replace the cylinder often, it would be worth considering alternatives. But with OEM, the bike is going to run how it was designed to run, ports will be in the right location and the right size, and OEM quality. It would be great if he can find a good condition used cylinder. But if they're asking too much for it, it might be worth going new. What about those companies that buy new bikes, then...

8/14/2026 1:01pm They're using 7075-T6 on these, which is great for strength, but not so hot for stress corrosion cracking or mitigating crack propagation. Those aren't huge concerns, so long as: A. They don't machine in large stress risers, like the sharp internal corners exactly where this broke, and B. They don't create feather thin features for a crack to easily initiate, like they did, also where the part broke, and C. They don't laser etch their logo to act as yet another stress riser, opposite the earlier mentioned stress risers, again, right where this broke, and D. The material actually is...

8/14/2026 12:54pm 6061-T6 from different sources and certainly different continents…can, will, does…have different quality and doesn’t always meet the same “specification” in the real world. This is especially when talking about China and commercial goods.

8/14/2026 12:54pm https://www.nicecnc.com/products/foot-peg-offset-lowering-mount-bracket… That sucks! Thanks for the warning. I used Nice CNC pegs before, they were fine, I checked and the pegs don't have this warning like your mounts. Seems crazy they would sell these for a motocross bike knowing they would snap.

8/14/2026 12:53pm Just as a PSA, I’ve seen plenty of adds and promotions from that company and there are all sorts of red flags flying all over the place, this is far from a “made in China” issue. Any company that advertises “aircraft or aerospace grade aluminum” should be given extra scrutiny. That term means nothing, 6061-T6 aluminum used in your car is the same 6061-T6 aluminum used in a fighter jet, there are no differences in the alloying elements because it’s a standard mix across all industries. Any company that seems to make everything under the sun should also be looked...

8/11/2026 4:12am Parole? That’s a pretty specific legal term. Unless Mirtl has already been convicted in a case I’m unaware of, I suspect Matthes means he violated the conditions of his pretrial release and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor or was restricted geographically. Those are two very different things.

8/11/2026 4:00am I was 5 years old, dad came home with a brand new Italjet 50. My brother cranked it up and put me on it. I ate shit fabulously, I pinned it wide open, hit the ditch in the front yard, did a front flip across the road into the other ditch. My brother thought I was dead. I got back on it and learned the throttle that day. Soon after we started racing.

8/10/2026 8:15pm Its all about making memories. I was a single dad from the start. Took both my son and daughter to mx and bmx races, camped, kayaked, boated and stayed busy. Just today I got a random text from my daughter about certain things we did and how she missed it. Both her and my son thank me frequently for all the fun we had. Daughter once said recently about how much I sacrificed for her and her brother. I told her there was no sacrifice, I enjoyed every minute of it. Some days we just didnt eat 3 meals. 😂😂😂...

8/5/2026 8:32pm I Build this late 80s KTM from a big piece of Rusty Parts, did not even know how it looks like. The only thing I knew it should be a Bigbore from the late 1980s. It’s a 1987/1988 KTM with an 540/550 Sidecar Engine, a real Bike with Violent Power , No Electric Starter, No Traction Control no soft Mapping 😅

7/29/2026 7:36pm The "Mecum Effect" is having serious fallout when used bikes are getting priced. Same as the "Kaplan Effect". It's all smoke and mirrors. Almost nothing over $3500 is selling regardless of condition and basket cases that are priced over a grand don't even deserve a call. All the sellers "know what they got"🙄 20-30 year old two strokes I just figure I'm going to have to do a complete engine rebuild on day one and figure that into the price. Then throw in all the chassis bearings, tires, and a suspension rebuild. I've been racing vintage bikes for 30 years...

7/28/2026 6:20pm I think part of issue gear companies face when making good looking gear is that the design is basically just screen printing on a non descriptive jersey/pant base. In the mid 2000s form followed function, panels and different cuts and materials created different silhouettes. A raglan sleeve. Seperate mesh panels. Piping to join panels. Stretch panels. 3 dimensional logos. Rubber to create form. Articulation panels etc etc etc. Now, in search of reduced weight, reduced manufacturing costs and necessitating repeated purchasing (becuase they are weak as piss now) tops are tops and pants are basically pyjamas. So the design element...

7/28/2026 6:18pm I like this kit well enough, but it's kinda ruined by the giant fly text across the chest. Yeah man, I know what the fly logo looks like. You don't need to spell it out like that. Also, they play around with the styling of the fly text way too much and never really establish an identity with it. There are like four different styles of it in this release alone if not more. This example is the best one, but still. This pretty similar fox jersey doesn't smack you in the face with the brand as much. It lets...

7/28/2026 6:10pm Great post. I agree. Mike is around my age so I always kept an eye on his amateur career. Somehow the 13 year old me ended up on the Alessi email list and one Christmas they mailed out dozens of race used jerseys from Loretta Lynn’s over the years! Tony is a good guy deep down I believe he just can’t see his own flaws. I remember reading an interview back then Mike said he wasn’t allowed to have ANY posters on his walls, his dad said even one poster could distract his focus from racing. So when I hear...
