At least back then gear protected you half this crap now is worthless. That FXR stuff I saw at a shop wouldn't last but a few rides. That's the big difference. I'll pay for quality, I'm not paying for this thin crap now.

Not looking to start a war - but the class is Plus 30/40/50......these are age based classes and not ability.....he 100% deserves to win if he can. Why would riders with less talent care to exclude ex Pro's ?? The real elephant in the room is the BS sandbagging in the B and C cats'

I like Cooper, as well as Deegan. But if/when they move up to the open class, they'll just be two more racing around 20-30sec behind Jett vying for the other podium spots. And that's just the way it is.

Deegan has nowhere near the technical mastery that Jett has. Deegan can scrap with the other 250 guys, but Jett is on the same tracks on the same days putting 3 second gaps on lap one of the 450 class and managing races so well that legends like RC and JS can’t really even tell if he’s trying. Deegan has a loooooong way to go before this conversation has even a shred of sensibility.

I'm around 5 decades old and stopped caring about needing to clear big shit at least 10 years ago. It's okay to half jump stuff or roll it, only do jumps you feel 100% confident clearing. Don't succumb to peer pressure unless you are willing to pay the price. I still have fun riding even though I'm nowhere near as fast as the kiddos (or myself when I was younger).
