That's Plymouth. I miss that track more than any.
Yeah that's Plymouth. Only shot of Buck Murphy I could find. Thanks Lee Sutton. In one of the above posts some one said they never ran a National at Plymouth, but I remember going to at least two there.

Plymouth ran from like 71 or 72 until the last one there at 78. They had the first and maybe only triple header 125-250-500 races (74?) . Hangtown did run the first couple years at another location closer to Placerville before then. Awesome sand track

I used to like the Gainsville track, remember seeing the guys ride it in the terrafirma videos back in the day, liked that downhill jump they had.

I think Peperell was only Inter Am's or Trans Am's - No nationals. My father raced some of them. Amazing track - for sure!

The Placerville track started in the 60's, then Plymouth for most of the 70's, then Prairie City.

I think most of the track in the One Chance To Win video from the 75 series are gone.

Yes one year they had a National in the early 80's. I went to every big event there. Not 100% sure but I think it was 125/500 National and it might have been the last round.
Rick Johnson won his first moto there after Barnett broke his collarbone after winning all the previous rounds.

We had a close national at Lebanon TN and Jimmy Ellis won that after Tony D had a flat. It was a 250 nat with a 500 support class.

How bout Pine Top, RI? They had 1 national, I think in 78'. We helped Shu change a flat on his "Shultz & Co" privateer trailer with the Maico inside.

I was at the national in Herman, i think they only had one sometime around 77 or so. # of my buddies and i drove there in an old MX van and got lots of chicks to flash us as we opened the side door while driving down the freeway and we flashed them right back! Stayed in a super ratty motel full of bugs and no working lights other than the bathroom!
I filmed the whole thing and it was epic racing with all the stars of the time like Smith, Hanna, Ellis etc etc. The film was super 8 and i may still have it someplaceSmile
