Damn, this sucks. Say what you will about adding a tooth, MX is better off thanks to Jody.
Did you guys know Jody was in an episode of CHiPs (S3E18) ??? This was during the extreme Jody-Mullet days circa 79'/80'. His pal Ketchup Cox was in the episode as well. If you pay attention to the start of the "race", you can make Jody out and then see him riding in subsequent scenes.

Prayers going out to Sally and Jody!
Get well soon Jody!
CHIPS was awesome!
I think the adding a tooth thing was meant respectfully.
Guy is a legend. Be well soon J.

Started reading Jody's stuff in the early 80'S. Enjoyed his articles! Prayers for a strong recovery!
I remember reading Jody's Box as a kid in the early 90's. I didn't really get his sense of humor since I was only 12-13yrs old, I just knew he was a charector. Has anyone checked in on Lovely Louella? LoL jokes aside, prayers for a legend
Spent the mid 70s in the magazine isle at the grocery store reading MXA & DirtBike, great articles, pics, stories, factory bikes, and the add fo
DG gold porcipine head for the YZ 80, which i never got
still drives me to buy what I want, dont wait as a 63yr slow ass.
ahh dang it! Father time comes for us all.. Jody is Core Moto!! no question....
Purchased the very first issue back in 1973. Picked up off the news rack at Adams Grocery Store in Waterloo, IA. Still have the issue....somewhere!
I hope and pray for Jody's full recovery. I started reading mxa during the late '70's when I was a teenager...Jody's Box was always unique and humorist. He is a living encylopedia for this sport and much appreciated for maintaining honest review of dirt bikes and aftermarket products within mxa since the '70's.
Legend/Icon. Hang in there Jody. You got this!
Those are great pics! Thanks for sharing. I'm a huge Chips fan and had no idea that Jody and others were in that episode.
Totally agree with this! That was awesome to see. Indian Dunes was an amazing place. I just got a sniff of it before it closed.
I can't think of many things I anticipated more than a new issue of MXA in the mailbox from 1983 through 2005. It really was the bible of the sport for 30 plus years. Get well Jody!!!
You are very fortunate to have been there! Being on the east coast I was always fascinated with the tracks out there that I would only see in magazines. Saddleback comes to mind as well.👍
I traveled from Tennessee to race at Glen Helen. It was the REM track that was racing that weekend. I was alone and I recognized Feets Minert and I walked up to introduce myself. I then realized Jody was there with him. Jody treated me like a friend and helped me throughout the day. An awesome memory for sure!! Get well soon Jody!
Very sad news..

Prayers to Jody and his family.
No doubt, grew up reading Jody's box and has always been my fav part of the mag and the first thing I'd read. Jody's had a massive impact on our sport in the last 50 years, here's to hoping he returns to write more of his box stories and tech tips.
Mxa was my introduction to the racing culture as a young man here in Australia, 1978.
Every month the excitment grew, even if it took 2 months for the issue to arrive.
Get well.
Godspeed is expressing good fortune/luck on a journey, as you hear before astronaut’s launch.
I think that was a loose reference to Rabbit Run MX in Richardson/Plano. Also home track for Big R Cycle, that Jody raced Hodakas out of when he lived here attending UNT.
Massive prayers for Jody and the Mrs. Jody is an icon of our sphere. I could say sport but it's so much more than that.
TM
Yep and he was wearing his KISS gene simmons helmet in the episode.

I was stationed in Germany when the 1st MXA showed up in the PX!!
Jody is a tough nut and a MX rider he will figure this out!!
Heal up quick, Jody. I hope you can get back to riding asap.
I get reminded more each day that aging is not for sissies. Especially for those of us that have been racing since the 70's.
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to Jody and Sally.
My love for moto started in ‘77, in no small part to MXA and Jody. It truly was the golden era of works bikes, brash new personalities, and Japanese technological advances. Jody walked our teenage minds through the landscape.
Been reading MXA for 40+ years. I appreciate Jody’s work and wish him well as he faces this formidable challenge. I’m saddened that he has to go through this but I have no doubt that he’ll put the work into rehabilitation to have the best outcome possible. Hoping for a good recovery.
Prayers for Jody, been reading his column for over 40 years.
