McGrath also said the bike didn't have a problem on a podcast. Kawi ambassadors are hilarious

They are probably already using custom axle blocks on the current swingarm. Those plus a 5mm longer swingarm means an extra 5mm over the 2026 swingarm.

Sexton reportedly was trying a shorter setup than what Factory Kaw traditionally used, as well as the really deep offset block PC was using.

That’s crazy. According to everyone here, Kawasaki always forces you to run things you don’t want and never gives you what you’re asking for 😂

also, the 2026 and 2027 both come stock with 114 links, 13/50 gearing. So guess what, the axle is in the exact same spot as last year. There may be 5mm more length overall, but the chain and sprockes dictate where the rear axle sits in the slot. You can make it two inches longer but unless you add more chain or less teeth to the rear you are in the exact same spot.

Unless the engine location in the frame has moved as well......Just a thought.

I thought of this too, but you would think it would had been part of the "new" changes on the press release list, idk man

I have no idea, but that is beside the point. It is normal for gear companies to run clean gear in their ads, and Astars used a picture of someone purporting to be Chase clearly on a Kawasaki in the same ad package. I don't know if Chase is leaving Kawi or not but I do feel pretty confident there were no hints to be gleaned from that ad.

I agree, I would think they would show this on changes for the 27 model.

Right, it was the faint reflection of the bike in the blurred artsy-fartsy ad.

who here believes Chase knows what to ask for to improve his bike? i don't....neither does Honda, KTM, and Kawasaki. apparently Star doesn't want to deal with him either....

It’s wild how quickly we’ve forgotten that KTM was going through bankruptcy when Chase left. Regardless of how much it’s assumed he did or did not ride the Kawi beforehand, a better opportunity was made available. Would you stick with your employer if the ship is sinking in 3 billion debt?

I'd like to give Sexton's and Prado's Kawas to Dazzy and Jett. I fucking bet my nut sack that they would have found the sweet spot.

All these bikes are so close in technology that the final piece of the puzzle falls on the rider to tweak and milk those final 0.1 tenths here and there. This is what makes Dazzy and the brothers so good.

They have figured out how to unlock those important 10ths here and there around Sx and Nat tracks.

Sexton is fucked. He doesn't have that mindset and expertise that Dazzy brings to Honda.

Recovering from ACL,  Chase wont be 100%, and may be 5,6,7th place the first 3 mo's of SX.

Assume this will be another year of acclimation with the Green bike and team.

Beyond a head scratcher that Factory Kawi cannot provide what their riders request to make them comfortable.

cool! Some good info there. see how it translates this year...

Extract:

In addition, a longer chain with 116 links instead of 114 has been introduced. As a result, the rear axle moves back five millimeters.

(No info yet on the siting of the BNG, and how that might affect aerodynamics and weight distribution).

come on, 5mm is less than a 1/4". That and more, a lot more, can be achived by changing sprockets. Not sure of the stock rear size but go down one tooth and test it. Same effing difference. the whole marketing of 5mm longer swing arm is bs. Thats why the stock swingarm is slotted about 50 mm. For sure the 5mm longer wheel base can help, but saying you needed a 5mm longer swing arm to achive this is stupid.

Sexton may not need a longer swingarm...

but Marchbanks could use it...

Yeah, I don’t disagree that the Lawrence’s know bikes, but Trey has to be the most underrated piece to that puzzle. Bike is the best in the world on both sides of the pond and I have to believe he played a large role in that.

You can move the rear wheel back like 15-20mm just from sprocket changes.

It’s interesting that PC shoves theirs all the way back, despite the 250 having a more slack head angle.

Gncc guys, Stu’s team, mostly run their axle blocks nearly all the way in. Which I’ve tried on my 26 kx and I actually like much more. It takes a lot of wt off the front end.

Keefer is all over the map. He has made videos about running the blocks farther in and then a month later, he says he prefers a longer swing arm. He don’t know sh$t either lol

A longer chain/swing arm puts more weight on the front tire.  I’m not enough of an engineer to tell you if that leads to more or less tucking of the front.
