I think everything's just high right now I've been searching for a van for months $18,000 gets you rust in ohio
Here is 2 Very clean 01,s like new 6k is a deal. I see them for 7,500 _ 8,500. I like the 01 cr125 like new there is some deals like 3,500.

Nobody's riding out here right now, too hot. I'd sit on my bike for a couple more months.
Is it that bikes are expensive or the dollar is worthless?
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
‘Im constantly blown away at the number of used 24-26 bikes that people are trying to get $8-10k for. lol it’s absolutely insane, two 2026 crf450’s for sale on marketplace for a few hundred more then a my best friend just got his NEW crf450 for.
At Dyracuse Tuesday to Thur they averaged 12 riders a day. On a Saturday last yr 380 a day. It wasn’t hot only 72 end of June when I was there. June 11,12 a race in the UP was 37 at night & 49 during the day. That’s why older bikes in the Midwest hv low hrs.
Been looking for a decent xr400r. Seems like $3500 is what everybody thinks they are worth. Rust and all.
I,d never go near a newer bike . Too many electric plugs & wires to short out. Imagine pond skimmy a new bike . Then try to figure out why it doesn’t start, no Thx. No seat foam , irritating E start , 450,s sound Horrible & they look stupid. Disposable bikes that won’t be worth anything 10-15 yrs later. So if you find a good 87- 07 cr buy it. Maybe exclude 98,99,s most don’t like the chassis, I do.
It might be so , I saw a 78 xL 100 for 3,495. It was like new though
They're surprisingly reliable actually. I generally do the dielectric grease in the connectors and so far haven't had an issue on any of my newer bikes. I swear it took 100 gallons of water to clean this 😂.
Ummm yeah dude.. I've been looking for an affordable 06+ YZ125 and I might as well buy a new one when people are asking $3600 for a clapped '06. No thanks. That bike should be $1500
Damn! There's one local to me that looks super clean, listed for $2500. I wanna offer him 2k 🤣
Hearing this is making me really worried for when I list my 2024 ktm 300sx for sale in a few months
Well said. Absolute piles of shit for $1800, sellers think they are sitting on gold mines.
Or seller powder coats the frame and swingarm black with new black plastic with new graphics that has their individual number and torn seat but it only needs new reeds to run good and don't tell you about the JB welded center cases that are almost impossible to source now.
I've been scouring marketplace for weeks now.. it's like this over and over.
Lots of interesting bikes in the 3500+ range, but as others have said nobody has disposable income right now and nothing is moving. If I'm dumping that much in a bike it's going to be a brand new one, and not something that I have to pull apart and discover red RTV sealant for gaskets and cheap, improperly installed crank bearings, with worn out shfit forks and transmission gears that are missing teeth. But daang it looks like it rolled off the showroom floor on the outside. I'm 100% going with new at this stage.. can't trust anyone's work now.
I sold my '89 KX125 restoration for 2800 and I scoped out all of the engine components and replaced things that were out of spec per Kawasaki manual. New OEM con rod and bearings.. it looked showroom fresh. I spent about 5000 getting it that way and lost my ass just because I wanted to be fair and give someone a good deal. I was a fool. There's a thrashed 89 KX125 not far from me selling for 2000 right now, and it is a rolling basketcase from the pics.
Can't wait for the 327 to come out. That's all I can think about right now.
Just think about what parts and routine maintenance costs now, it means the bike market has shrunk. Nobody seems to want to spend more then $3000 on a used bike, while clapped out bikes at the bottom of the market are bringing around $1700-$2000 as long as they run.
Also with gas prices, buyers used to not mind driving a few hours to get a bike, now they do.
Don’t assume people are getting what they ask.
Some people always over value things when they list them. They either never sell them, or accept an offer eventually.
Newer stuff has to be related to the new price. You can’t sell last years mx bike that needs tires and chain, and will still be used, for 90% of the new price.
Historic stuff is harder. Basically what someone will pay. Seems to fluctuate wildly. Went sky high in Australia during Covid. Most are suffering badly with the cost of living now, and prices are dropping a lot.
Try selling an immaculate street bike that’s say 15 years old. Something like a 2011 Triumph Speed Triple is a great bike but almost worthless and impossible to sell.
1973 Kawasaki Z900’s were going for A$50k. Probably still are.
Looking for a different commuter bike for work. Been looking at Yamaha FJR1300s. Clean one by me with fairly low hours listed at $7k FIRM. Couple weeks later drops price to $6500. I offer him $5800 a week later. Says nope I have a lot of interest at 65…I’m like why aren’t you selling it at that then, that’s your advertised price?? It’s still listed a month later…
I did the same thing with 1989 YZ 250, had well over 5 grand and sold it 2,800. It took about a month to sell.
Pit Row
Before I spent a dime try to find water pump parts for that thing😉
This!
People can’t afford 7k, but they can afford 1k down payment and 100 per month for a brand new one. I’d take the new one everytime.
5k for 24 350sfx too much?
How much is a brand new one where you are?
You have to train yourself to not get worked up over the inflated priced ones... They are not selling, they are dealing with all the tire kickers. They can have them!
Fair priced bikes sell, but quickly. Check often and setup search alerts.
I bought a clean '22 MC250f last fall for $4300.
P.S. When selling, I look at all the ones not selling and list below them and have had great luck with cash buyers and no tire kickers. If you're dealing with that crowd, you're too high!
Depends on hours. Could be a great deal or could be eh
Sold my 23 300 SX with tsp tuner for $5300 in Michigan. Only got one guy to come look at it. Listed for months.
Fortunately I know the history from day one ,its a very low hour bike ,for some reason the second owner never rode it either but decided it needed to be restored from the frame up.
Around my area if anything started life as a dirtbike or even remotely resembles a dirtbike it will never get listed for less the 1000 dollars no matter what.
I'm on the fence about selling my '22 KTM 350SXF. Between seeing what local bikes that are like mine are going for, I'll just hold onto it. Dealing with FB marketplace shitheads is hard enough. lol
Dam Bro , you get down. Looks like you had fun.
