Well I finally took this thing out to the track for some laps. It had been sitting ever since I finished the build way back when. Crazy how time flies. I was 19 or 20 when I started this build and I’m 36 now! Anyway, I replaced a couple leaky gaskets, changed the oil, topped off the coolant, replaced a disintegrated air filter, put some C12 in the tank, and it fired up after a couple kicks! I had a 2020 with the stock suspension done by RG3, longer dog bone, etc. It was better, but not nearly as good as putting the KYB shock on my 22 and having JBI give the fork the "pro" set up. The difference imo is that the KYB shock allows the bike to settle much better going into and through turns. The BFRC tends to hop around and the KYB is much better planted. The forks are the same 49MM Showa forks that come on the CRF 450, KX 450/250. Nothing wrong with them at all. Actually the valving is pretty good for most average riders once you get the right springs and get the bike balanced in the rear.
