What do y'all think about quality and durability for such a new bike?

Now the guys that claim they would buy it if someone made it…have to show up…..when the new KtM 300Sx came out, lots of older guys, claiming to be 2 stroke riders bought them…..then many realized a 2 stroke requires more effort and better physical conditioning…….hence the for sale at 4hrs…. Going different direction, were plentiful….I look forward to the ride reports👍well done Kawasaki…maybe that GNCC Baylor guy will race one…

I went to my local dealership at lunch and attempted to put a deposit on one. The guy with the man bun said kawasaki doesn't make such a machine. Then I showed them Vital and he said they didn't know if they were going to order one...it was like pulling teeth. Freaking millinials!

I would ride one of the efi 2 strokes before making assumptions based on weight.

Also the 250xcf is a sweet ass offroad bike lol.

I don't know what they allow in the XC1 Pro class - I assume 450 4t is the limit? Something like the 327 Kawi / 350 (Beta) and what may be to come from other manufacturers, would be  absolute weapons in GNCC / Offroad in general!

The 'strange' size?

As I've written before, I'd be surprised if that capacity  of 327cc wasn't made, to have the base engine / cases being suitable for an eventual 250cc 2 stroke.

Just be Happy that Kawasaki have (finally!)  brought out their first completely new 2t , in a couple of decades, I reckon.

Anyone remember back to the 2000 GNCC where Wattsy rode every displacement made by KTM at the time?

He cleaned up the on the 125! Wattsy was an absolute animal!

It doesn't say how it was weighed on the Kawasaki site... many specs are still TBD.  For a while the bike weights were measured with 1/2 a tank of gas, but when I looked at the 2026 KX450 weight, Kawasaki gave both a dry weight and a wet weight with a full tank of gas.

This is the note on all the other mx bikes:

*Curb weight includes all necessary materials and fluids to operate correctly, full tank of fuel (more than 90 percent capacity) and tool kit (if supplied).

Is it just me, or do the pictures of the two stroke look animated? Like on a graphics company's website where they show you a "preview" of your bike. The motor and chain in particular look oddly clean and bright. Is this just a mock up or just weird lighting?

Whatever it is, Kawasaki has been doing it that for a few years now. I agree, looks too polished so to speak.

Deposit placed at local dealer.  I was the eighth (or so) deposit this morning with most of them being on the X model. They have no information, nothing in the computer, and no notice this was going to happen. They don't even have an idea when they will show up or even be able to order them!

I can’t see the 233 listed being the dry weight. That has to be curb. If it was dry it would weigh the same as the 2026 kx450. Per Google the ktm300 curb is 231.

Pretty fun bike.
Almost wondering if the bore and stroke make the most sense.

I believe ML stated it was around that 233lbs mark on the video he put out earlier.

Slightly oversquare.. 66mm bore x 76mm stroke

The previous and last KX250 generation (05-08) was undersquare 66mm bore x 72mm stroke

74mm bore?

Yes. The question is if that’s dry or curb.

Props to Kawasaki for telling it like it is.    When you are playing with bore and stroke, who knows where you will land.

The 2003 YZ426 was a direct result of the race team running a bored YZ400F in 2001 and 2002. They settled on that overbore and felt like it was the sweet spot for power delivery.

Maybe Kawasaki did the same thing in testing, since they had already decided not to constrain themselves at the 250cc mark. This could very easily be the reason this is a 2027 model and hasn't already been in the market for a year now; they may have had a 300 and didn't like the power.

KDX 220R just took its shirt off.

Cool to see Kawasaki go above and beyond bringing back the 2 stroke. Hopefully this leads to more models in the future.

I’d assume this bike shares the same down draft intake as the 4 strokes?

That is interesting.  Same bore x stroke from a place that has a history with Kawi.  Probably a story in there somewhere.

Probably different prompts and AI platforms used.  I just told it to add the graphics/seat/wheels and it spit out its own rendition instead of using the existing Kawi render.  I used to have to spend a bunch of time in photoshop doing my own mockups and now I can just use AI and squint a bit for a pretty accurate depiction of what the final product will look like.
