Yea wondering the same. I called it with confidence in one of the disaster threads (there are so many I can't remember which one) trying to compare Tomac's absence to Prado and Chase that he will be back at Denver.

I hate when there is talk about "not impacting the championship". Hunter and Roczen had to deal with Tomac (and Sexton and Webb, etc.) all year long - there's no reason they shouldn't have to battle with those guys in the final 2 rounds.

I can understand and respect Eli Tomac's privacy. That fans and media taunt, make fun of, and name call the second winningest rider in the history of our sport because of his need for privacy is embarassing. Can't we just take him as he is? Some things are none of our business, and even if they are - let it be.
He practices with the scoop at home all the time. Cortez dirt isn’t any better than Denver dirt, arguably worse. Although I don’t know how the Tomacs have worked their practice tracks so they might have added sand, mulch, etc to soften them.
So we gonna get elito-mac or slow-mac?? My bet is retired-mac... it's just sad at this point...

Eli clearly does not care what any of us think he should or should not do. He will on the other hand discuss with his Dad and his trusted team advisors what tire and chassis set up will give him the best shot at winning in front of his many loyal Denver fans.
I personally believe he's extra motivated to do well in these last two SX races this year. His only other race in Denver since tearing his achilles tendon in '23 was in '24, when he broke his thumb in an unusual race crash and finished 10th. Eli and his camp have never been happy with being uncompetitive for the win.

You get paid millions of dollars to ride a dirt bike. Eli brings this on himself when he has such a bizarre fall off mid season and goes silent. He's my favorite but it's a little ridiculous.
It was said he caught Covid mid season.
That explains the slump. When I got it, I got hit with waves of fatigue, and took me 6 weeks before I could physically push, without getting wrecked.
That's probably why he seemed like no intensity or energy, and his riding style changed. he didn't have any energy.
Not homologated on Friday perhaps, but it’s the AMA so they might approve homologation 2-3 minutes before tech opens….!
