Nashville Daytime Race, WHY?

Bit of a rant.... We are going to the Nashville race. I didn't even check the start times. Like a dummy I assumed it was a night race like every other SX race. Why in the hell do we ever have day races in SX? I get it, we did it during COVID. That was a bit different. IMHO there should never be a heat or main that is not under the lights. Rant off.

Poll

Should SX "night show" be ran during the day

To “grow” the sport the next two races are being aired on nbc as well as peacock. Do people even have just regular tv any more? And most of the races this year aren’t under the lights as they have been starting at 7 est everywhere, even out west.

Industry party race, everyone wants to be near Paper Alley in Nashville by 9pm for the drunk Bachelorettes.

I miss the days of ATL and "Tongue & Groove", though.

I think the race is at 1:30, and I agree, that is odd.  We are going over from Knoxville and were planning on spending the weekend there to go explore and people watch (to Goat of Lurkers point, the drunks and bachelorettes in white cowboy boots 🤡) .  a 1:30 race is just an odd time, they might as well make it 10AM and serve coffee and donuts instead of beer and hot dogs.

1:30 is Opening Ceremonies with everyone’s favorite…daytime fireworks. Races start shortly after 2:00.

I'll take daytime fireworks over fireworks inside a closed stadium

Yeah I don’t get it. A lot of old heads probably enjoy the early race times so they can get to bed at an early time, but I ride and race Dirtbikes for fun on the weekend, and like to catch the race that evening after unloading the bikes, grilling some burgers/ordering pizza and stuff.

It sucks that it’s getting to where I have to watch the replays.

Supercross shouldn’t be any earlier than 6 or 7pm

Just kills the vibe. Nothing like sx racing under the lights. I think that goes for about any motorsport.

All for TV.... qualifying starts before west coast guys normally wake up. Day races always seem so flat and last one I went to the track and I were both totally baked by the end of it.

I'm not a fan just because it means a 5 a.m. start time here, so I have to wait for the replay to drop on Peacock. My oldest is moving to Nashville in June for work, though, so I may have to make a trip to see him while the race is in town next year or the year after (hopefully it stays on the schedule).

Sooo you haven’t watched any races the past few years is what you’re saying? West coast heat races are never under the lights.

Yeah 5am Sunday start time here too. I don’t mind a morning beer but that may over the line! Daughter’s 21st birthday the night before, so fair chance I’d be watching the replay later anyway 😂

That aside, the daytime races lack atmosphere, but this upcoming race will be critical for the championship.

Motocross in the day, Supercross at night. Should always be this way.

"why cant our sport be mainstream?"

"Why cant we get more sponsors?"

Weeeeeh weeeeeh

Two weeks of live coverage on nbc in the middle of one of the closest points battles in a decade between a legend, an awesome comeback, and the guy trying to breakout and a bunch of you pacifier addicts whine about having to get up early

Awwww

SX under the lights is the way.

Move starts to 8:00 or even 9:00 est to get most nights under lights.

Nashville has become a great place for night life.

And look for a sellout, as opposed to last weekend in st louis.

It'll definitely stay on the schedule if feld is smart.

I rarely watch Saturday night races live.

Always the replay. Easy to f.f. to just the gate drops.

With your daughters 21'st bday the night before, you may still be up and drinking at 5AM. 🤣🤣

Agreed, but with the timezone changes are any of them starting at night anymore?
