It would never happen because of the importance of SX.. but imagine if he just switched focus for outdoors and went and did outdoor testing at some MXGP races before outdoors starts
he has mentioned it many times in multiple interviews the past 2 years, more so in the past 12 months that he is so fed up with AMA and Field that he doesn't care and would rather go race GP's. He also mentioned he looked into moving to Hawaii full time but made it tough on testing, but its something he wants to make happen.
personally, i think the odds of him going to race MXGP's is the same odds of him changing teams again.

Guys are always coming back too soon, maybe he is legitimately injured and needs more time? Nothing to gain from coming back too soon…get healthy for outdoors…the level these guys are at is sobering, one mistake can be life changing……

Lot more to lose than there is to gain by coming back a week sooner if it's still debatable whether or not he's ready. It's a 3 year contract. Birmingham SX when you're well out of the title fight doesn't move the needle either direction.

Getting to be? He missed the championship by 2 points last year. This season is a disaster.
I talked to someone in the know and they said his crash was very close to being a year ender. My guess is there’s no rush to come back without being somewhat comfortable. Seeing the struggles on the bike I don’t think hurrying back would make much sense at all.

Not hate but frustration at lack of information about what’s happening.
As a contrast Jett missed half of 2024 MX, most of 2025 SX and all of 2026 SX but no-one is out of shape about it. Why? Because within a day or so of being injured, even when it happened in training, we got an update on the injury diagnosis and planned treatment. Then we got regular updates as his recovery progressed.
Chase on the other hand has started making a habit of disappearing for no apparent reason and there’s no information, no updates or anything until a few days before the weekend he announces he’s racing.
Zach O talked about it on moto 60 again today, said he knows where he crashed and there's no way to crash small there.... jump face at end of fast whoop section.
Never talking about concussions is kinda dumb but I also get it.... if the next one is career ender that probably doesn't help in contract negotiations.

Not a good look for Chase or kawi given all the speculation with the bike over the past year or two, Kawi obviously know this & I feel like they would say the issue if they knew. Hope I’m wrong but it’s looking eerily similar to JP’s experience under the kawi tent. Ground up rebuild, let Mitch handle the 450 team and have RV take over pro circuit 250 team.
I see a whole lot of Kawasaki stuff in his stories lately
