Getting quite a few asking but getting old mate, wife wants to go to Xmas in New York so there’s chance but I have the easiest job in the world mate, The trick is teaching the family, not just the rider as it’s the only sport you don’t go to T coaching every week. It’s the 2nd most physical sport to World Cup soccer and just think how many skills would be practiced just in the lounge room to play World Cup soccer. For the 2nd moto start today, most have seen Kitchen and a few other riders tangling up and blowing the first turn and headed towards that photographer. Well, that photographer was me haha. I've seen comments online asking if I was fine and to answer, yes, I got out of that situation somehow completely unharmed. I went right back to shooting pictures after that. Mammoth 1997. OTMX race. The first part of the story is all hearsay because I don't remember any of it. Saturday last moto of the day. According to eyewitnesses I got together with a guy on the start (found out later it was my buddy) I went down hard and laid there for a second or 2. 1989 at a local pro race. Very tight very twisty and SUPER bumpy. Guy was leading it and lap after lap I’m trying every which way to pass him. I’m sticking a wheel in, panic revving in to turns to mess with him etc etc. So part of the track there was a whooped out straight which then rose up somewhat quickly about 4 foot before a very sharp right hander. I have no suggestions but wanted to reply as my mum just got home on the 30th of July after nearly 3 months in hospital from a massive hemorrhagic stroke. She was usually on filming duty for race days and I always had bright gear/helmets as it’s what I liked and dad too. It was always easy to find me if I wasn’t at the back of the pack. It’s awesome that you are trying to make dad’s experience better/easier and I wish you and him all the best.

A lot of great comments and stories from the “Not much Left” crowd, I am in that group also. So, for you young guys, I just retired from flying Apache Helicopters after 33 years and can get back to riding my vintage motocross bikes. Age is a number and always do what you enjoy. The memories from the old are the best, it’s not reliving the past but still going strong with what you love.

First race was aboard a shop prepped AT1 125 that I purchased from Renton Yamaha (Seattle area) in 1969 for $450.00. 21" front wheel, GYT Kit and Straight cut gears. Next trip around the sun in 75. The addiction is strong! My current bikes (that I prefer) are a YZ 155 and for offroad a YZ144. There is others in the garage that are 4T

Old enough that the last one in our group besides me took the last gate drop in may. For the first time since I swung a leg over my Indian papoose I just don’t have the heart to go anymore. Fuck cancer.
