Curious if anyone had any great moto experiences during the holidays so far? With all the rain in SoCal, I spent a few days just making turn tracks with friends. Honestly, more fun than I've had at the track in quite some time.

Went to Fox this morning only to find out they were closed due to track conditions from the rain. Waiting to see if they open tomorrow...if so I plan to be there.

I'm up near Glen Helen and the wind is blowing up to 60 mph. I was thinking about going tomorrow but will still probably be pretty windy. I'm kind of a fair weather rider in my old age now.

Damn, good to know. I was planning on taking off work to go ride Pala tomorrow.

If Pala is closed I guess I'll be on the turn track program to break in the new steed.

I did have a good moto experience this Christmas as I bought my first brand new one.

Yeah did the same ML. I did a desert style ride one day with a group. Not really my style but I enjoyed some of it. Really just like to get out there with my local buddies who race desert. We did a 50 mile loop essentially.

Then I also rode a turn track with a buddy. It’s insane fun. 3:30-3:45 lap time. Put in 3 30’s. Hopefully we get some more rain 🌧️

Yeah I'm keeping an eye on their Facebook page. Looks like more rain on the way after tomorrow so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I retired and moved from Huntington Beach, CA to Perry Georgia back in 2021. I always wanted my own piece of land to build a track for just me as the public tracks are starting to be a little too much for my 69 year old body and mind. So I bought 3 acres and just had it cleared last month. I have been doing a lot of manual clean up of stumps, vines and just debris left from the clearing. Also been putting up a fence by myself (425' is a long ways).

So a couple weeks ago I finally made a first layout of a track. It's really tight but that's ok for me for now. I can do what ever I want so I'm sure I will change it as I ride it more. No jumps right now. Will have to have some dirt hauled in for that at some point. It's just a good feeling to work on land that is yours. Restored an 1954 Ford NAA tractor this past summer. Bought an old brush hod and dirt scoop for it. The guy I bought it from has a box blade and disk I can use. So I have been playing around with all of that. It's been fun.

Overhead view right when I bought it. It's the triangle.

I did some brush hogging initially. I realized that after doing this it left thousands of small sampling spikes sticking out of the ground. So no good for riding dirt bikes. I finally had to hire a professional to come in and clear it out.

Drove down to Florida from Delaware the day after Christmas.   Rode at Bostwick, Orlando, and Pax.   Weather was great, tracks were great.  - back to reality tomorrow though.

Rode Friday at my local in VA. It was cold but hey riding is riding.

Supposed to ride on New Year’s Day but if it’s below 40 I’m out.

You’re living! That’s so cool. I’m hoping to get 3-5 acres in the coming year or 2. Not trying to have a full on scale moto track, but maybe a smaller backyard mini supercross track with some fun booters and a bunch of turns. Cheers 🍻

Thanks and good luck getting some land. It was my dream for the last 45 years. Sure took long enough. Almost too long.

Drills….ruts, standing feet on pegs, no clutch, no brake, one handed….body can’t handle pounding endless laps any longer…need to be smarter…..tracks down in Florida get pretty busy during the holidays…..good time for drills …IMG 7894 2IMG 7895

Rode Christmas eve at my local-ish track. Took my BIL and let him experience MX for the first time. He did laps on the small track and did some time on the main track. Seemed to really enjoy it.

Bought me and my dad tickets to the pulp mx live show at pro circuit, he bought us A1 tickets thanksgiving week. Mainly thought about A1 and chatted with my friend whos more of a die hard Eli fan than I am.

I drove over from SLC to get some track time in SoCal. Rode Cahuilla yesterday . It was cold and windy, but the tracks were excellent.  Fox rained out today, so I hung out at the beach in Carlsbad. Glen Helen may be too windy for tomorrow.  I'll hit Mesquite on the way back home at least.   ML, where can an outsider find these turn track riding areas you speak of?!?

Drive 15 min north of Glen Helen on I-15, take the 138 exit east. Left off silver wood. Couple miles and there are miles of epic moto track off to the right. https://maps.app.goo.gl/1ffW563V6hnMDkxs5?g_st=ipcJA5 %28484%29IMG 0627.png?VersionId=h5m1TP9OWREzPeJ9Miqr.alUBMIRPIMG 0603 5IMG 0600 7IMG 0598 9.jpeg?VersionId=D1RcV1i37HOcdfpmoqkVaHe2Qhs7eIMG 0616 5

As for me we’ve been getting hammered with rain in NorCal so I had to make us a track on our riverbar. Takes some dedication that’s for sure!! Took me about 2 hours to build the road in and trim back the trees to make it to this spot and then 45 min to push in a layout. This entire track was under water on the 26th. We rode it two days later!!

Did some riding with my brother with studded tires on a frozen practice track in a old sand pit. We rode until it got dark. We got only 5 hours of daylight this time of year so it gets dark pretty fast but it was fun
