8/19/2026 6:49pm I think everyone battles with underestimating other’s intelligence and overestimating their own (Dunning-Kruger). Knowing what you don’t know, is as important as, knowing what you do know. The best leaders have the ability to put ego aside and choose the best qualified people for positions. You should want dissenting viewpoints to strengthen your own position, be malleable enough to change your position when it is shown to be flawed. That is what true leadership looks like. It’s having ethics and morality, but showing humility and human decency when incorrect, instead of trying to blame everyone else.

8/15/2026 10:34am These are the dangers of connecting our identity to someone else, we're forced to defend them to no end as a matter of defending ourselves. It's a common predatorial tactic. The fact is that Trump is not the blue man dr manhattan and there's no 4d chess. He's just a bitter old guy in diapers that can't stay awake and can't run a casino without going bankrupt. Not to nullify the sentiment of those that fell for his scam, it's just that he's not the one to help those folks realize their wishes. On the plus side, conservatism will be...

8/15/2026 9:05am Everything in Trump’s life is transactional. Business partnerships, marriages, the presidency. However, unlike a failed business venture, Trump cannot simply file the Iranian conflict for bankruptcy. He assumed Iranian leadership would quickly acquiesce, despite knowledgeable people advising him differently. Trump’s in deeper than he ever imagined, and it’s buried deep inside his melon.

8/14/2026 11:33pm Also, Iran is one of the oldest continuous major civilizations. I think we just celebrated 250. This thing in Iran will end when we leave. I'd be willing to bet this whole ordeal ranks quite high on The Donfather's list of regrets. Though I'm surely the dumb one assuming he might have one of those eh. Although, I guess we...

8/12/2026 8:00pm Capacitor blew in my 3 phase converter. Felt like wiring a bomb but she's a runner again. Now I get to nerd out and set parameters on this damn edge bander, then wait as something else decides to shit the bed. Rinse and repeat.

8/12/2026 3:05pm Our small group of friends runs the gamut of, political beliefs, income levels, believers, non believers, dope smokers, bourbon sippers, etc... And none of that comes into play when we're together. The stuff that we poke each other with online, or our group text, in the real world around our campfires, never puts us at odds with each other. So many in here would fit right in with our bunch of goofballs. Unless you didn't keep the fire properly stoked... Edit: Point being, everyone goes home Sunday night, or Monday morning chilled. Right down to the bone.

8/9/2026 4:27pm Bandsaw is still probably the most dangerous tool in the shop 😂. I didn't do all the machining on this frame, but I did design it/knee assembly and roughed it before our actual machinist finished the job. I can do 3/4 axis programming but I haven't had the opportunity to fiddle with 5 axis much. For what we do it's...

8/9/2026 9:53am I'm not the one making the fairness claim. And as of yet, neither are you. It was soggy and T-MAC. The reason I pointed out that the higher rates resulted in a smaller share of the burden was to counter the notion that taxes are less fair now than then, which you asserted with your charts on tax rates. I was pointing out that tax rates are not the important part of the equation. I'm not making any claims as to what anybody's tax rates or burden ought to be or what is fair. I have, in the fairly recent...

8/9/2026 7:36am It is a good question. Looking at the current trend, simply "more" tax on earned income wouldn't really help our massive deficit considering they are already very good at contributing little to the common good through this channel. It wouldn't help redistribute earnings any differently. Especially with people and entities at the level we are currently discussing. I don't think...

8/9/2026 6:03am Corporations might be just as, if not more reckless, than our federal government with money. And they have a lot less checks and balances. Even though those mechanisms within our federal government appear broken. They know they have a federal government (and taxpayer) to bail them out if needed. We've seen this happen. I would be ok giving money to...

8/9/2026 8:52am Incredible work @Joey Bridges. I know there are some CNC nerds in here. Cool CNC frame. This will ultimately be a carbon fiber part in production. Made alu frame so we can build up prototype to get test pilot walking on knee sooner. I definitely enjoy having the privilege to create cool things that help people live, walk, do surgery...

8/9/2026 3:45am I think you might be misreading my reasoning for the higher marginal tax rates. I’m not really targeting the top 20%, and increasing tax revenue from even the top 5% isn’t my primary objective. I’m talking about progressively higher marginal rates at VERY high incomes, primarily to change incentives, making it relatively more attractive to reinvest or otherwise deploy that next dollar productively than to take it as additional personal income. If that also raises some revenue, great, but that’s secondary to what I’m advocating. In fact, what I’m advocating should actually result in the top incomes in the country...

8/9/2026 3:43am The only point you seem to be proving is how bad the funneling of income to the top really is. Or how broken our true value assessment is. This is what happens when you hoard all the money. Per his tax filing, Trump paid $750 in federal income tax in 2016. How much did you make in 2016? How much...
