Haven’t been on a bike in 7 years, due to bad TKR! Or a 125 in 40 years. Last one was a 86 CR125.image 223

Right there with you at 66, but I never stopped since 76.  125's after no 125 for 40 years is so fun.  The new 125's have a much wider PowerBar today than back in the dayIMG 20250208 162003 0.jpg?VersionId=VvzQ5bGebOwWyXhJPO

75 next April      2 YZ 125's and a Triumph 250 getting Clake SLR Rear brake and keeping the foot brake. (my right foot is 1 1/2" shorter) I have a thick 3/4" sole lift and not very good feel. The frame without the engine has a 155 on the way, first of the year from CA. (have a complete 134cc motor for sale) The other YZ is a 144 and set up for offroad. Waiting on the brake lines that go from the SLR to the rear master cylinder. To make the SLR work on a yamaha, I purchased Bremso hydro clutches from Italy. 125's are so much fun😍  (engineers tape is for no motor oil)

Total of 9 helmets on that wall and 2 more by the water heater. Helmets that hit the ground from me and my 2 son’s. Should of been a few more, but I was throwing them out before hanging.

Be fun to have a tour of that shop I'm thinking.  You could post more pictures?

And half the fun.

In my opinion, the Stark is more fun. Coming from a YZ250 myself (5 years on the bike).

Also, I bought this from Power Motorsports in Oregon. $7199.00 OTD,$600 to ship, more than 2k+ cheaper than anywhere in S.Cal.

At 56, I recently picked up a 17 YZ 125 to compliment my KLX 170😎

Is it just me or does that thing look “Tricker” than a 2026 KTM450FE…?

Why do 125s look so cool to me? Is it that they have an engine that still reminds me of the RCs, OWs and SRs…?

A question for the discerning Yamafiles: can you “Yellow & Gold” the latest YZs without spending a fortune? Is it still cool to run Yamalube? Can you get a Noguchi kit? DG pipe? Ake Johnson Factory Tank w/straps?

Here is what I'd estimate for swapping a blue yz over to yellow and black.

Full plastics kit - $100 to $145 depending on brand

Full graphics kit - $125 (cheap off the shelf) to $250+ (full custom/better quality)

Seat cover - $40 (generic black) to $75+ (better quality, ribbed,  custom colors)

Fuel Tank - $0 since the 2022+ YZs have a black tank and the graphics dont mount directly to the side of the tank.  The stock blue tank on the pre 2022 YZs peaks out from under the graphics which looks like crap and the graphics mount directly to the tank causing them to bubble and yellow. I run a pro-carbon racing carbon fiber tank cover on my 2019 ($130) to cover up the blue plastic but more importantly to keep the tank graphics from yellowing and bubbling.

So $265 for your average Facebook marketplace hack job to ~$500 for something that looks fairly decent.

And nothing wrong with running yamalube.

Edit:  Forgot about wheels.  Add another $800 for wheels because blue rims on a black/yellow YZ is a no go.   Blue/yellow look great on a Suzuki, but leave it there.  Or buy the 70th anniversary red/white YZ which comes with black rims as a starting point.

I’ve always ran Yamalube in all my 2 strokes! I see NO reason to change now.🤣

Perfect!!! Nice to see guys on the Smaller bore bikes. I have four of them myself. Plus some larger ones. The lighter weight is a huge plus.
