They said they would run 3 450s. I guess we will see.

3 BIG hitters on 3 BIG salaries.
I believe it when I see it.

If you've ever watched one of the This Is Lawrence videos you know that the vibes are off the chart inside the Honda rig. The Lawrence boys seem to really be there for Wasabi Jo and I hope there's a ride for him if that's where he'd like to stay. His 450 debut left very little to complain about.

Hunter was saying after the race that Jett was more pumped on Jo’s 2nd place than Hunter winning. They’re a great team, I could see HRC Japan coming up with the extra budget to keep Jo on red if needed.

I am sure if Honda sees some advantage in the Japanese market to having Shimoda stay on red that will free up money to keep him. It makes sense to me but I am not Japanese. I would think the risk of having him on a euro bike would be not ok for the Japanese brands.

Without a doubt, Jo's performance ( throughout his career so far - not just this MXdN) makes him one of the Great Japanese riders - with probably, much more success to come for him.

He just won SMX, with skill and honour, he just debuted ( outside of Japan, where I think he's done some off season Japanese race[s] on 450s) superbly on a 450, and, don't forget, just a few weeks ago, he won in front of The Head Of Honda, in the USA (I can't recall the Nationals name, sorry). All that makes me think Honda would be loathe to let him go. Or any of the Hunta Brothers.

I would be surprised if Honda Japan, would not find a piddly ( to a corporation of that size) few Million to give to Honda USA, to have Jo remain on their bikes.

Over many decades, Honda has nearly always funded a Japanese rider, or two , or more, to be in various Road Race World ( and other countries nationals) Championships.

If RJ rides safe and finished both Motos in the top 5 USA still gets 2nd.  He sent it going for the win, they got 2nd.  It worked out.  Unless he beat one of the Lawrence, they weren't winning the event.

Hunter and Jett cleaned house on the weekend.

Tied on points with France for second place, second place to USA due to Tomac's better moto results.

USA with 22 points still loses to Australia's 19.

You'd have to beat Jett and Hunter to win. Sexton has done it a handful of times in dozens of attempts.

Deegan would have needed a 7th, along with RJ or Sexton's hypothetical 2 - 4.

No matter who Team USA sent, Webster would have to DNF to give them the hollow victory.

lol you’ll need to pick your drink back up when he gets to the 450’s. Have a good one.

Unbeatable.

Jett almost yard sailed a couple of times over the last bump heading into the woods too.  He was taking a super fast line where he bounced to the top and skipped over the jump, got cross rutted a couple of times.  After his last scare in moto 3 he quit doing it, and backed it down a bit.  Guy is unreal.  The slowest and smoothest looking insanely fast dude I have ever seen.  Always makes me think he has a couple seconds more per lap in the tank if needed.

Also spoke to a few Aussies there that seemed to have some knowledge of Websters Honda deal. They said his total income was about $300k in 2025 with all his bonuses.  That could certainly be way off, but that is what they had heard...

Did they specify Australian or US dollars for that figure? I would think that's in AUD but I'm not exactly an insider

I was hoping to see him vs The Lawrence brothers.

Every year you talk about Deegan winning - haven't seen it yet.  First he has to turn up and then, do you really think he is better than Jett and/or Hunter on 250.  Put your drink down.

lol you’ll need to pick your drink back up when he gets to the 450’s. Have a good one.

I like Deegan. Before the race I thought he might have had a chance to win a moto outright. I was at the race. No way would he have won a moto against the Lawrence's on that track
