I feel Mitch Payton would be a good fit for this position.

Perfect.  Leadership, class, wisdom, world respect.....  He IS the man for the gig.  No better person to lead our racers for the USA.

Saw someone else mention this, but Paul Perebijnos would be great for the job if Mitch was not able to fill it.

I know people say it's time but I feel sorry for Roger. In any of his interviews when they talk about the MXoNs you can see he gets emotional. He clearly has stated many times this race means more than any other race to him.

Read the article. AMA Director of Pro Racing will have the responsibility.

I can only hope you're joking.  Your girlfriend would be the worst possible team manager.

While i agree it would be terrible. Atleast Haiden would actually race for USA even when it’s overseas.

If USA have Eli, Chase and Haiden. I don’t see how they can be beaten. Especially on home soil.

43 years as MXoN team manager (maybe only 42 with the clusterfuck year that it was cancelled with short notice).

23 winning teams. Over 50% win percentage.

While I don’t think that the team manager has a huge effect on the riders’ overall performance, it probably is enough that a handful of those wins might not happen without him in charge.

Maybe.

We have way better options…

1) Dungey

2) JS7

3) K-Dub

4) Lars

5) J-Bone

Thank you for all your service RD. It has been a goid run. But that being said, thank God. Confilicts of interest were just too prevalent, nobody can deny this.

I don't believe Roger was ever prejudiced against a rider or team.  If they were the best choice they got asked.

Did he he make it easy to pick a rider from his team if the top choice had difficulty answering the call...no fucking doubt.

And guess what...even with the bullshit he had to put up with...we ALWAYS sent the best team that could and would.   Roger made sure of that.

You rock on with yer bad self Roger...you da MAN.

On a more serious note, who do you think would be good to replace Roger?  I like Johnny O', RJ or Jeff Ward

According to the article in the OP it's going to be Mike Pellitier, but if he pulls out for whatever reason, I'd say J-Bone.

What about voting in a deserving Team manager each year. For example, Lars Lindstrom, or Jeremy Coker or Ian Harrison?
Or if the main function of a Team Manager is to motivate the riders(?), maybe a past winning Team USA rider would best?
