Those changes are on the 125.

250 is unchanged.

Saw it this morning when the Yamaha ordering period dropped.

As I mentioned a couple of pages ago and My sales manager said it this morning. If it's on the floor, You better grab it because every thing is going up with the supply chain charge or Duty fee.

Until dealers sell their inventory from the first half of the year, you could see identical bikes at the same dealer with different prices. Might even see a 3rd tier if tariffs increase again in July.

"Reps for KTM and Kawasaki both stressed that the vehicle’s model year, country of origin, and order date will determine whether tariff-related fees apply. If the manufacturer didn’t pay additional taxes to import the bike, neither will the customer. For that reason, tariff surcharges will apply on a case-by-case basis.

When asked whether tariff fees will still apply to 2025 models, Kawasaki Media Relations Supervisor Brad Puetz explained that the “website is a first resource but the customer will need to see the actual unit on the floor at their dealership to know if the surcharge applies on that VIN.”

I think Kawasaki hits their dealers with sur charges too.  They do it rather than raise the dealer and retail price.

Uh, when the dealer gets hit with a sur charge it changes the dealer/invoice price. But the manufacture doesn't change retail, they leave it up to the dealer to hit the customer with the bad news that there are all of these new sur charges that they have to pay.

Believe it or not during the shipping mess a few years ago and currently there are sur charges that make the dealer invoice price of a unit higher than the retail price.

This is simple, keep your old bike, buy a lightly used one off Marketplace (tons out there) and watch the bikes pile up on the dealership floor.  The prices on used bikes are crashing.  Supply and demand never sleeps, the manufacturers and dealers will eventually move back towards reality.  They will have no choice.

Uh, the dealerships are being forced to raise there prices cause of the tariffs. This won’t be good for the power sports industry.

So how does that change, in any way, what I said?  Tariffs, no tariffs, Trump, Biden, Kamala it doesn't matter.  I am not picking a fight here.  I genuinely would like to know others' thoughts.

The new costs incurred are not a result of supply and demand. Sit back and watch supply diminish not prices come down.

This is funny since there is actually no increased tariff at this time. the standard tariff is in place of 10%. The 24% increase was placed on a 90 day pause started on April 5th while the countries work on an agreement. We need to let the man do his job. If Yamaha is raising prices under the flag of tariffs they are screwing everyone because they have not been charged any additional tariffs at this point and probably will not be when they Japan quits screwing us.

10% tariff is actually a huge increase in tariff, it quadrupled overnight hence why you're starting to see consequences.

Edit: Kawasaki and Yamaha new "supply chain surcharge" ($650 on 450s) tracks pretty well with the tariff hike.

Given they're taking a 7.5% hit on import/gross price (tariff hike from 2.5% to 10%), this roughly 6% surcharge on MSRP could unsurprisingly make the customer bear the burden of this extra tax (assuming a gross price about 80-85% of MSRP).

This is just an appetizer though, by the same token, if tariff were to go back to the initially stated 25%, you could expect a $2k "supply chain surcharge".

sr the 10% tariff has not changed that tariff has been in place long before trump

Was 2.5%, now 25%.

The country of origin doesn’t ’eat the tariff’, despite what you have been told.

of all outlets CNN just today did an expose about the tariff effects, according to CNN there is no rising effect of consumer cost at this time associated with tariffs.

so if companies are charging a tariff fee they are doing nothing but lining their pockets.

New bikes are getting out of reach with or without tariffs.

You are incorrect. Tarrifs have been raised on chinese goods by at least 25%. That is in effect, the much larger tarrifs are on pause. In addition, higher tarrifs on steel from many countries is in effect now.

I can pretty clearly see here on the dealer order screen: Supply chain surcharge and yes, That gets added to the retail price because the dealer has to pay it too. Our Yamaha order just decreased dramatically. Ordering the bare minimum to remain a dealer.

I just watched this and they're just explaining why overall inflation hasn't gone up "yet". They explain that it may take longer for overall inflation to go up, but individual products like appliances are already hit hard by tariffs. You must have slept through it or are only reading headlines 😂.

Yes, the new KX450SR is going to retail for over 14k!   Right now you can pick one up for about 10-11k. Standard is 7-8k, don't wait if you are looking at buying a new bike.
