Had to do the same thing with Maguras. I have a 15 year old KTM with Brembo components that have probably had the fluid changed and been bled twice in their entire life and they felt better than new Maguras. A used Brembo front brake was the best mod I've made to my Husky.
I believe PMG has a controlling interest in Braktec
Braktec is 100% owned by Brembo.
Got it.
Found this in a MXA article…
Here is the whole Braktec story. In January 2012, the Spanish J.Juan Group purchased fellow Spanish brake manufacturer AJP brakes and combined their two brake products into a new brake system called Braktec specializing in trials bike brake systems. Then, in 2021, Brembo bought 100 percent of Braktec for $78 million dollars. This followed their purchase of the Danish brake pad company SBS in 2020 for $32 million dollars. Brembo has aggressive expansion plans and also owns AP Racing, Marchesini wheels, Breco rotors and the low-cost, Indian-made brake system called ByBre (which stand for “By Brembo.”)
The brand I was thinking of is ByBre…and as pointed out by the info I found due to Dirty Points setting things straight…it looks like Brembo bought up everything…even the brands that you eventually have to replace with…Brembo! 🤣
So, that still makes me...us…wonder…what brakes and hydro systems will end up on KTMs going forward?

Herlings is making noises about leaving KTM…
I guess you’ve never quit a well paying job because you felt disrespected by the management??
I have.
And that decision is a lot easier when you’re a multi-millionaire with multiple income streams.
Yup, Brembo are a Massive còmpany.
'Short' them, and you really leave yourself with a much smaller list of options!
And, the other major brake and hydraulics mfrgs might not be too keen to deal with you.
I used to look at them on my Ducatis in the 70 and 80s, and think they were a quaint, near artisinal brand. Then, I started to learn a bit. Still love my ancient 08s hanging off a few of my 'Zokes.
Not a knock on Herlings, he’s a badass and has the titles to show for it but he’s getting long in the tooth and is made of glass. I think even if ktm wasn’t in a financial mess you’d see that relationship split soon.
It makes me feel old saying this since I have been following his career since he was a kid, but he is 30 years old now and has financially had an awesome career and his results obviously don't reflect on his speed and talent. But at this juncture, it almost seems pointless to switch brands. I don't know, the past two races his progression back to top 3 speeds has come on fast, it's hard to say if a brand switch will help, I guess that is assuming KTM will still have a team and finances for the race team.
All I know is that I keep going back to the MXoN (the ones in the states), if he doesn't make it to the MXoN this year, I am gonna go postal.
We have Chase, Coenen bros and maybe Herlings leaving KTM
Sinking ship…
Maybe they couldnt match Kawi offer to Chase or the grass is greener..
Or maybe he doesn’t want to take the chance of getting paid 30 cents on the dollar like everyone else they owe money to (or maybe nothing if PMG goes belly up).
KTM is in the death spiral. Hard to stop it at this point.
They certainly deserve it.
KTM should buy Sherco, Beta, TM, and Suzuki, keep their names but replace the bikes with KTM's in new colors...........It'll be huge!
Lots of FUD up in here.
going to Ducati
stamp it
Where?
He's a 450 champion, he might not get a factory ride - those are tougher to come by right now - but it's not like a smaller team wouldn't take him based on past performance. Small crashes still have the potential to end your season and I'd bet a team is more likely to take a healthy Anderson over an injured one.

Reports out of EU don't look good for KTM's survival.
Pierer Mobility AG, the parent company of KTM AG, has postponed its 2024 annual financial report due to severe financial difficulties, including an anticipated loss of nearly €1.2 billion!
The company reported a 29% decline in sales to €1.879 billion and a net debt of €1.643 billion, with equity falling to negative €199 million. To continue operations, Pierer Mobility must secure approximately €600 million in new capital by May 23, 2025. While Indian partner Bajaj contributed €150 million to restart production after a three-month shutdown, supply chain issues have led to another halt in production, with employees' hours reduced and operations not expected to resume until July 27. The company has again laid off their entire Austrian factory workforce because they can't get parts to build bikes.
The future of the company remains deeply uncertain, hinging on the success of investment efforts and the ability to stabilize operations.
As an industry observer…I can see PMG ultimately pulling this off & owning even more of the company.
However, I can also see more PMG owned/co-owned companies, subsidiaries and what is really PMG/Bajaj vertically integrated content/suppliers.
Translation: more Chinese/Asian/Indian content among companies owned/associated with PMG/Bajaj.
I’m not saying that any of this is good or bad; but, I’m not stoked about it. Personally, I think it’s a really good thing that Ducati, Triumph & others(?) are taking the time to enter the market in contrast to what is happening to my…well, until now…
“Favorite European Brands”
I own KTM, Husky and GasGas products…but, I’m not looking to “go there” for a while…not until this is all sorted out and I see what PMG actually evolves KTM Group into going forward. I’m not stoked on more non-European content…which has been happening over the years; but, seems to have accelerated lately.
Do I see relationships with the names and brands that I normally associate with a KTM or Husky…and, yes, even the GasGas (love their Factory Editions)…the point: do we do to see Brembo? Galfer? Regina? Excel? Dunlop? All the cool stuff/brands we’ve seen on Factory Editions? (I know some of that content, on FEs, has already become a “supply issue”)
Or…as I’m starting to suspect…are we gonna see “other content” from vertically integrated brands/companies?
Edit: meant “other content”
Well I don't believe it.
VitalMX's Lewis Phillips had an excellent article (that he's really proud of) from a few months ago, and it puts all these rumors to rest.
Sure his only source was the KTM marketing team, but who else would know better? no reason to consult other sources or do any investigation.
They build the entire bike in Austria, only takes 8 minutes per bike. The future outlook is amazing, and Bajaj isn't an owner.
This sucks because I was thinking of buying a brand new KTM at the end of this year but hearing all of this just makes me want to get a Triumph
Source/Link?
For the record…
I’m not talking about “where” a bike is assembled…not an issue.
WHERE the parts are made…the “content”…is what I’m addressing. It has been changing and it appears it will continue to change.

I'm surprised there isn't a lot of buzz about this. It's in worse shape than ever?
Perfect time for one of the Japanese manufacturers to ramp up a 350 effort…. But nope…if KTM goes away the Japanese will go into ultra conservative R&D mode for the next 20 years….maybe thats why they are so financially strong? Even if KTM group went away tomorrow, what they did in Mx & SX and bike development has been amazing ….I also think they kept the 2 stroke flame burning when everyone else threw in the towel, IMO Yamaha”s commitment to keep the 125 & 250 2t”s alive can be partially attributed to KTM also…….Don’t understand why any fan of Mx/Sx would want them to fail…
There’s a new 350 on the horizon…
Spill it
Word is Triumph has one coming
Makes sense as they copied old ktm 250f thay could do same with 350f pretty easily as they share parts.
