Absolutely !!!! I have it on good authority COOKSEY is about to release his latest "INSIDE knowledge" VIDEO that Tomac is signing a 3 year deal with the Aprilla MOTOGP team .
Can't wait. heh
Wasn't Cooksey the guy who said Kawi was holding back factory parts his final year with the team? Good stuff
Are you mentally challenged? I made a comment in response to "Eli is a guy that doesn't like to push if he isn't comfortable". Where did I say Ducati can't hit quads? Go take some reading comprehension classes.
You know what you were implying

Actually, I wasn't implying anything. You just have hard on for me. If I wanted to say Ducati couldn't hit quads, that is what I would have said. I also commented weeks ago on another thread that it would be cool to see Tomac on the Ducati. You're a special one Johnny.
Yes. He's the authority of our sport.
obviously kidding everyone
This was one the pictures in his wife’s christmas post.
I’m not gay, dude. Not that there is anything wrong with that..
This has been a great thread until the 2 guys above start acting like fucking teen agers arguing over who gets the remote. go play elsewhere.
So did John Tomac, apparently.
Maybe Honda not having to pay Jett or Hunter win bonuses helped them save some cash and they can give Eli a 1 year deal. Go out on a Honda would be mint.
Wonder if there has been a orange ktm sprinter spotted in the Colorado area lately?
Link?
No, he didn't. There is a difference between "holding back factory parts" and not allowing a rider to go where he wants with setup and things like that.
Good Lord the amount of times on here guys think they heard something on a podcast but get it wrong, yet still state it as absolute fact is crazy.
Well, it could be a plain White Van / Box Van.
Be it from any of the 'courting Manufacturers. I'd presume they have such anonymous things.
Or, it could be a Glass Walled Truck 😁............. those that know a bit of Ducati history will know what I'm referring to!
Tomac can't possibly be racing for money at this point. Surely he doesn't want to sign an offer that's straight up disrespectful, but he has to realize that staying where he's at is the best course of action and ultimately that has to be most likely outcome. Yamaha knows all of this and will be fine if he leaves so no reason to make him an offer he can't refuse. In the end they'll meet in the middle and give it another go. At least I hope. Would love for a season with healthy Jett tomac sexton webb on bikes that can't be used as the excuse.
I was trying to put some thought of how age and progression comes into play and why they would potentially keep Justin or Webb in this scenario (Webb may have another year on his contract, I honestly do not know, I am just thinking out loud). Anyway, I didn't realize Justin is 27, and Webb is 29. Justin is not as young as I thought, I know he is only in his 2nd year on the 450, and is looking better (SX), but not sure how much higher he will climb. And I didn't realize Webb was 29, he is about 1 year away from the time career factory riders start to ask how many more years they want to do this (I know, Chisolm is an anomaly). Anyway, with how Eli has been riding, and willing to keep going at this point, it is hard not to consider what you are saying here, you have a 100% championship level rider willing, and his teammates aren't that much younger, but not quite on the same level of ability to bring home a championship. Maybe a re-shuffle to keep their #1 guy is warranted.
Pit Row
I'm not sure, all inputs being considered, that you, they, budgets, and point totals all align on who the #1 guy is.
So who do you think is the 450 #1 on the Star racing team is?
Another consideration…
We are about to enter 2025 MX and the last time Eli completed a full series was 2022 MX. In that time he’s won a single supercross event and a handful of podiums across all formats. Obviously he’s far from totally done but his results in the last three years have been poor by his standards.
Reed had more moto wins than the two Ryan’s combined and was in the lead when he crashed. You’re right, it may be a bit much to say he had it on lock, but he sure seemed to be very much in the driver’s seat before the Chadapault incident.
I'll say this...if Star "can't find the funds" to sign Tomac for 2026...I hope like hell that Eli will sign with some other OEM that will give him all he needs (money included) to be in the hunt for, if not actually win a championship, just to rub Star's nose in it properly.
I read it on here. Validity of comment is 50/50, at best. That is why I put apparently.
Well, pretty sure Eli wants to keep racing.
I know nobody wants it to happen, myself included, but hasn’t Eli been considering retirement for the last 3-4 years? I would understand if he didn’t want to start over at a new team with a new bike and just raise his kids. I would also understand if the kids make him want to continue racing longer. “Bye Honey! Gotta go to work! See you next week!”
I think you’ll find Reed’s point lead was about double that.
I can’t recall exactly, but it was more than a full moto lead heading into the Chadapult moto.
I know Webb is signed through 2026. On top of that, his 3 year deal was backloaded (from what I remember), with his salary climbing each year from 2024-2026. I'm not sure if he intends on racing several years past that, or if he'll call it quits after next year, but I could see him being this same level of championship contender for another 3-4 years if he really wanted to. His riding style isn't reliant on athleticism, so I don't think aging will really hold him back all that much. If I were Star, and Webb told me that he wanted to run it back for another 2-3 years after the current deal is up, I would want to keep him on board. Sure, his highs aren't as high as Tomac's, but the truth of the matter is, he has just as many SX titles as him, and is likely about to pass him.
nice. I have Zero Social accounts so would have missed that. Funny looking at various wikis and such "sources" they seem evenly split between 2 and 3 kids- not that it matters much in the context for discussion 🙃
Phil also broke a transmission... Eli would destroy a club bike.
