Just heard there was mfg meetings (all together to discuss impacts) last few days and major impact on incoming bike prices in US. 20% on euro brands and 24% on Japanese.
“Double digits” price increases could be in play as early as next week! 🤦🏼♂️
Prices high enough let’s see how this rolls out.
ill sell you my ktms for $15K each, bargain!
Why is it you guys from CA just keep worrying about tariffs?
I thought prices were all going down on day 1?
Bikes already in country will not be affected.

I think its only 10% for the UK so could be an advantage for Triumph.
I'm not sure Trump understands that tariffs are universally reviled by economists for a reason. They impoverish everyone.
Not officially, by the tariffs but I'd bet on an additional markup.
All part of KTMs plan to build ahead and get product into the US before the Tariffs went into effect.
Yeah.....so every country that has been charging us the same or more than what he is implementing is creating this bro....your country for example charges us 10%. All we are doing is equalizing instead of subsidizing the whole world
So what we're saying is, the used market is going to stop being so absolutely abysmal?
Not that this is a good exchange, but just an observation.
Reciprocal is a word that many need to check the definition of…
Bummer, but it is going to effect the cost of bikes.
They really might come out smelling like roses if they have a ton of bikes already Warehoused. And got 70% if the debt washed. Brilliant
Sure hope his plan works.
You are right, Trump says the other countries pay the tariffs. Doesn’t have any effect on you. You’re all good. 👍 😉
Then why do other countries impose tariffs on United States exports?
Triumphs are built in Thailand, which is being subjected to even higher rates than Japan/Europe — over 30%
The made up numbers by Trump, yes they are made up, they are NOT a reflection of what other countries duty is for import for US gods. If you haven't seen through that already you have a major problem.
EU average of 2.5% toward US. Can you give me your break down how you get that to be even with the now coming 20%?
This will fuck low margin products most, and unfortunately dirtbikes is one of them. And for no reason. 2 years until he loses power, 4 years until he is gone forever and everything goes back to normal. By the end of year most Americans will have seen what this does to their economy and started turning. Job loses, high inflation.
That's is not good for the sport, but there is some hope.
Triumph is pretty much dead in USA if they are going to apply the 34%. No one sane can say that's a good thing.
Tariffs are paid by the consumer. “Your country is shooting its people in the leg so I’m going to shoot my people in the leg…to make it even” is essentially the logic here. I’ll stand by for the Trump Cucking Syndrome people to freak out but before you do just understand I’m glad he won. That doesn’t mean he can’t do some really stupid shit.
Pit Row
The sheer panic going through C-suites all over the world is palpable.
Australia charges no tariffs on goods from the US, there is/was a free trade agreement between the US and Australia.
You need to find more accurate sources of information.

Partly because US has been wanting to put low quality products into other markets at low cost. Like shitty meat. No one want that kind of products in EU, because it will force EU market to lower the quality.
Or fuel below market pricing, same with steel and some other stuff that US subsidised heavy.
It's not only US, Russia does this to, China also. Specially when their huge market shrinks and they are overstocked. Then they want to dump it elsewhere until demand catches up.
If it was matched no one would complain. 2.5 average in EU for US products, great go ahead and introduce that. 20%? Come on.
Dirt bikes are so "low margin" that Kawasaki is able to offer $2500 rebates on 2025 KX450's.
F it, it's a rich man's sport anyway...
Oh boy this thread is going to derail and get ugly so fast lol. It is political which never ends well on Vital.
The best part, not a soul actually knows how this is going to play out. The folks building their soap boxes here don't realize how stupid they look.
Two more pages of this, Gibby is going to be sitting there going mad trying to click the grayed out "suspend" button 🤪
I’m sad to see this but it’s true. I started riding with my mom in a single mom household. I went riding last week and the ride fee is now $40. That is just one prong obviously.
I will not be able to introduce my children to motocross when the time comes and that sucks. But this sport is moving towards auto-racing and motoGP territory seems like.
This affects us all. We all want a more powerful dollar and cheaper consumer prices. This is a blow for all of us, and there’s not a way to over intellectualize that. It is ok to criticize the people responsible regardless of how you voted. It’s ok to change your mind if you learn new things or if facts change.
This is extremely short sighted. So many people in our industry could lose jobs. Dealerships may have to make cuts. Brands could disappear. Remember going to a race in 2009 and there were 4 people per class? There are so many dominoes behind bike price increases far beyond just “spending a couple grand more”
The OEM's are either going to raise msrp or add a surcharge. They are still trying to sort it out. Buy now!!!
