Relax wacko. I responded to his comment. Maybe keep scrolling if you don't like it. Some of you are taking this shit way too seriously

34-pages and counting? Yes. Yes, indeed.

I didn't mean to derail the thread. Let's get back to the pile on! Does anyone have RC's home address? Dox him!

Not sure if this was already discussed, but do you reckon the Blair Matthes Project will continue? Last week I gather Blair wanted a bit of a break, but given Steve, Weege and JT kinda seem to be on RCs side, does that lead to a bit of a rift between them? Probably not I guess, as they've obviously talked about this prior to last week's events

DB had every right to voice his frustration, but I’d be curious to know if he regrets any part of that video now.  I learned a long time ago to give myself at least a day before I go scorched earth. That video seemed like he pulled in the driveway, still out of breath and fired the camera up and started recording.

You can talk yourself into taking lots of crap if you stop and think about it long enough. It may be rash to "strike while the iron is hot", but it may be necessary even for your own mental health. Make a quick decision, have no regrets. Move on. Or - have no decision and think about it, rationalize it, and deal with treated poorly and then piss and moan forever about how you were treated. Or really - accepted being treated.

Just listened to the Pulp segment with Emig and Steve discussing this. I'm all in on Steve being a complete clown on this subject now. How many times did he publicly beg Blair to share the whole story?? Tell the story, tell the story, tell the story! *Daniel tells the story* Oh you shouldn't have done that, you burned all the bridges.

Steve on Pulp: "Daniel ultimately decided to walk away from the broadcast, because of what he felt was, you know (referencing his problem with RC). I feel like that should kind of be the end of the story"

If that's what Steve really thought, then why keep prodding Daniel every chance you had?

He said he considers Daniel a friend. That's not how you treat a friend. Maybe that's what Daniel will be dropping in his video Thursday?

As far as Emigs take. Wow. "What gives them the freedom to say these things about the broadcast and RC and Leigh?" What an entitled arrogant stance.

That being said, man I don't know IF Daniel goes in on Steve and whoever else...at this point I hope he doesn't. You have the people on your side, maybe consider letting it play out from here...

So Emig thinks the people who the broadcast is intended for, the customer/viewer, has no right to have an opinion on the broadcast's quality?

I guess Fro didn't get Feld's questionnaire late last year. It specifically asked questions about the broadcast, the announcers, etc.

Family member got married last year and wife who was around 5 years old when RC retired, knows nothing about the sport, started watching with us because that's what newlyweds do and it took her about two races before she asked who the guy who can't talk is and why does he have this job.

RC gets criticized for the job he's doing because he isn't good at it. That's it.

You can admit that without it saying anything at all about how much it impacts your viewing experience or how obsessed you are. It's not a commentary about his character or his effort. Years into this and he isn't good at it. The only head scratcher here is what motivates some to deny a very obvious truth?

Also lost in all of this is that DB wasn't coming after RC's job. They had different jobs. They could have worked together for a long time. This never had to be an RC vs DB thing and it wasn't DB who took it there.

Ricky going to Bondo to go to DB tells you all you need to know about where ricks head was at

On Pulp Monday night Fro, Steve and Philthy never addressed what sent DB over the edge. That tipping point, best from what I could tell, was DB being told “NO” race day commentary (or opinions I guess) on the Daytona race whatsoever… 🤯😠

JT and Steve addressed that last week, along the lines of “if you were told you had 3 minutes only to appear, it was never going to be providing commentary.”

Think they said that maybe he misunderstood the intention of the invite to appear

Daniel stated he did not know this until he was driving to Daytona, it sounded like a huge misunderstanding or that Feld wanted him there and NBC did not.

I wonder why RC needs every last crumb? He's never parented, taken a break from hogging the spotlight....he doesn't need the money. He knows he sucks in the booth and it's clear he's not wanted. Gotta wonder what goes through his head?

This entire DB/RC thing will hopefully be dead soon. All DB has to do is apologize for making a frigging moon landing out of a mole hill and all will be forgotten. Then...accept his role in the game or just move on.

have asked the same a few times. I like how McGrath comes out every once in a while to an event or signs autographs or does a quick guest interview and then he's back to chilling at home with the family. I know RC is divorced and I'm assuming older kids (we're about the same age) so I'll never get the motivation for THIS level of bullshit over a small amount of money in a sport he's devoted his whole life. The less he said, the more he'd be adored by the masses, honestly.

I've never met RC.  My opinion of him is based solely on his racing, interviews,  and announcing.

I simply don't have enough first hand experience to say he's a ginger dickhead with short man complex or an Uber talented racer just trying to transfer those skills into a life that very few can fully comprehend.

I suppose, if they could ever get Ryan Dungey to give his opinion of Ricky, I'd believe him.  But, Ryan is far too decent for that sort of thing.

Having said that, I am and will continue to be a fan of Carmichael.

I've met Ricky 3 times in person, each time at Washougal..  One time in particular in 2005 he had a friend who was looking for him and the will call area.  My wife and I helped his friend and actually had him in our car when Ricky went by in the opposite direction in a golf cart looking for him.  They pointed at each other and laughed and we handed his friend off to him.  Then Ricky asked us if there was anything he could do for us for helping him and his friend. We told him no, we were good and he asked if we were sure because he appreciated our help.  In my experience he was very kind, and appreciative to us, and I've always remembered it.

In my opinion, Ricky Carmichael is one of the most qualified human beings ever to comment on a motocross race.  Whether he makes some mistakes while doing so to me is of no consequence.  It is live commentary and mistakes are made by ALL of them all the time.  As for being nice to people, I'd be willing to bet any amount of money you name that you are not nice to people all the time either. Nobody I know is.

He sure is, which is one of the biggest complaints about his actual commentating. He doesn't actually lean on that experience or knowledge much, if at all. Maybe if he just worked off his racing instincts and observations he'd be much better, but instead he defaults to the lowest form of communication like "ohhhhhh!!" and other cringy nonsense most of the time.

Even the people who support him in the booth agree on this one.

The Blair Mathes Project is up and they get into the subject quite a bit. Steve still trying to minimize it all down to not liking someone, and even equates his Race Tech Rant to Daniels video, saying he's also a guy who pisses people off in the industry lol.

Blair handled it all well, and definitely took the high road to Steves odd fatherly advice type commentary about it.
