Dozens of riders every year pack their suspension and riding gear into a kit bag, jump on a plane (that they most likely paid for) and go ride the MXdN. Meanwhile the richest teams and riders in the world are complaining that it’s too expensive, they don’t get paid, and it’s not fair that someone else is making money. I think you miss the point that a for-profit entity runs this event, and how often anyone else thinks it should be run is meaningless. If the teams and riders want to participate, they will. Same as any other pro event.

Yes, and that MXGP schedule travels all around the world with flights, shipping, customs, carnets, language, cultures etc all having to be accounted for every couple of weeks. It stretches over a weekend instead of just one day. It's a lot harder to organise and finance than the AMA schedule. It's not just another race "tacked on" to the list, it's a big commitment, but they always commit to it. It's been on the World racing schedule for 60 years - not just the GP schedule. Every friggin year and here we are again....selling t-shirts and a golf tournament isn't going to make enough to send a team....we do this year after year....the easiest solution is staring everyone right in the face just add an MXDN surcharge of $.50 on each ticket sold in SX/MX/SMX it would raise approximately $500k....problem solved enough to pay the teams and riders to do this event....but no we just continue to repeat year after year.....some would call that insanity...RaiseItforUSA isn't working...I would easily pay a $.50 surcharge for every ticket I purchase without batting an eye....this is a complete failure...

One thing i would like to emphasise is culture. Australia is different to USandA. Sport is important to grow social skills and discipline but family is first. Itll be fine and ill still be at Bunnings after the race to get a snag and another fucking indoor plant for the misso.
