Its too often. Every single year is too much and that fact gets more apparent every year. The competition is set up just like the olympics with multiple people from all different countries coming to compete for their country. Asking ppl to do that every single year is too much. Plus the specialness isnt as high with a race every year. If it was say every 3 years then someone like deebagz would know they only get 1-3 chances to go so they would. I dont know the exact number but it needs to be between every other year to every 4 years.

In front would never let their most profitable event happen any less than once a year.

Yeah, let's have the greatest race of the year every four years.

Great idea, really.

Just wait for the Spring-A-Ding-Des-Nation and Fall Rumble Des Nation.

“ The specialness isn’t as high” ….. get real it is special every year ….just like the final round east vs west for the SX series.

“ If it was say every 3 years then someone like deebagz would know they only get 1-3 chances “ Fuck it would take 12 yrs for him then at the that rate.

Go to a MXDN and see how special it is. It gives you goose bumps. Olympics is over 10 day period and each event has its number of spectators specific to that event. but the total number of spectators over the 10 days is greater for all of the events combined.

But for a 2 day event like MXDN at Ernée with a crowd of over 100k ppl that’s something special…..go attend and see for yourself self

One aspect...
...with injuries being so prevalent in MX...
...running it every year ensures the fast racers from every country have a shot...
...at competing in the MXdN as some point in their racing career.

So yeah, Mav and CPR are right...  ...you are wrong.

I agree that every year has slowly dulled the luster of the event.  But every four is too spread out for this sport.  Every other year I think would be good.  But the bigger problem is the lack of pay and team support from the promoters of the event. These riders don't get much rest time.  It's obviously a giant pain in the ass to do the event.  And they are expected to race for free for their country while others make $$$ off their sacrifice.  That's lame.  Fix the $$ part before how often the event is.

It’s the best race of the year, literally the one event that I drop everything to make sure I can watch it, or attend it.

The drama from team USA is a bit annoying, but they always get it worked out.

And if this year it’s Webb and RJ on brand new teams or Marchbanks and Kitchen on Kawi, I’m in.

Like the majority, I just want guys that WANT to go.  Guys that will give it everything they have…

I'd be all for every other year if I knew it would ensure full participation. Every other year with all A teams would be more interesting than every year with a bunch of B and C teams.

I’m assuming all the racers that don’t do the event will not be riding the week leading up to and after the event. You know because having your riding supported by a team with everything planned out for you is much more tiring and dangerous than going riding each day at your own track. Refresh me, did Jett get hurt at an event or his own practice facility??

The MXDN is the greatest race of the year. If I could only go to 1 race a year this is it. I have always followed MXGP and our AMA series, so the years its in the US I feel like a kid again. The atmosphere is off the chart. I dont get home its such an issue to go. No one complains about going to the VMXDN. Keep it every year. We seem to be the only country that has issues with the team. .maybe a little pride would go along way for some.

It's an exhibition race, not that big of a deal.    I'm sure the racers care more about the races where they can win money.

The MXDN being held every year isn't the problem, it's too many other events getting scheduled too close to it that's the problem. Monster Cup, WSX etc etc.

I understand riders wanting to get a good payday but don't sign up to endless meaningless (apart from money) races, then say the MXDN is "too often". Don't shit on the greatest race of the year in favour of $$$ then blame the MXDN date for you not being there. It's been there in the schedule for about 60 years. 🙄

French fans r crazy they love mx even at a 2nd tier 125 race they hv big crowds.  Watch the 90,s Paris sx .  Vmxdn has #,,s close to that & mid Ohio too K. Reeves has his own vintage co & is there.  Big pay days here riders hv no interest in racing for free.  Fans wanted corporate influence & you got it . Now money is king ovr self or country pride.

It has been on the MXGP schedule for 60 years and the Euro teams just treat it as a 21st MXGP. Euro contracts and schedules all take it into consideration. You won't find it on the schedule of any other series, though. For the rest of the world it is an off-season race that always sits awkwardly just after the previous season's rider contracts and team budgets have ended and riders are changing teams, teams are changing personnel, teams are getting new bikes, etc.

Yes, and that MXGP schedule travels all around the world with flights, shipping, customs, carnets, language, cultures etc all having to be accounted for every couple of weeks. It stretches over a weekend instead of just one day. It's a lot harder to organise and finance than the AMA schedule. It's not just another race "tacked on" to the list, it's a big commitment, but they always commit to it.

It's been on the World racing schedule for 60 years - not just the GP schedule. It was never an issue for AMA riders till more races got added to their schedule. That's like building a house next to a race track then blaming the track for noise. The MXDN was there waaaay before. If one series doesn't take it into consideration with their contracts, budgets then it's hardly the fault of the MXDN. Both series are tough and expensive but only one is making the effort for the race.

As has been said countless times on here - the MXDN was never a problem when the winning streak was going on..

Why would you say we can't? We send a team every year, and will send one again this year. The problem isn't sending a team it's sending our best team and that cluster fuck happens every year because of the things I mentioned. It's not unique to the US team, off the top of my head the US, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Germany will all be sending B or C level teams because for whatever reason their best talent isn't available.

Who said that you cannot send a team? Why pointing on countries who can‘t send their A team?Go back and look how many times they send their best team year after year. When Deegan had the desire to race the mxdn,he would be in Ernée.Sexton is injured,Tomac probably not 100%,no problem if they can‘t go,but cmon…..

Can you direct me to the "World racing schedule"? lol

Everything you said is in line with what I said. In Europe, the MXdN is included on the calendar and it is included in the teams' budgets and riders' contracts at the outset. Elsewhere it falls after current rider and sponsorship contracts have expired so it is not on the calendar and not a part of the teams' budgets. We get to the end of the season and the AMA starts asking about riders for the MXdN and the teams act shocked and start scrambling. Rinse, repeat, every year.

I repeat for the slower ones among us...

You are one cross rut followed by spiky take off away from end of career or more. Almost half of the fast pros don't make it healthy to the end of any season of both sides of pond. You cannot afford having mxon once every 2 or 4 years imho.

Motocross is tough on everyone, it is expensive for everyone. When the odds are stacked against you as an individual or as a team than it exposes how much are you willing to suffer and sacrifice for the anthem and banner you claim to be patriotic about. I get that there is wear and tear on human body and once in a while you need to take care of medical stuff... but when you are selling everyone a dummy excuse multiple years IN A FUCKING ROW... well congatz you are a fraud. Plain and simple. But don't be sad, as for the development of last few decades the fraud is legal.

I think you miss the point that a for-profit entity runs this event, and how often anyone else thinks it should be run is meaningless.

If the teams and riders want to participate, they will. Same as any other pro event.

Is there a race that has become more meaningless than the MXON? If it were a good thing for the teams, why wouldn't they go? Why don't they want to go... Because...it's a waste of money, time, resources and risk to the rider. It's at the end of MX and people are gearing up for SMX playoffs and then SX. Like they need to have a literally useless outdoor race at this time of year...on another continent. It's not a bad race. But, it's time has come and gone.
