Star Racing Yamaha Announces Withdrawal from 2026 MXoN

Just out of curiosity what sort of entourage dose the Deegan clan travel with? I’m guessing mum, dad, brother sister at a minimum.
USA team is always well supported and I guess the Deegan camp would expect to take as many more as well?

So when GP riders want to race against AMA riders, they get their manufacturer to contact US teams to get help organising a bike ie; like the Coenens? Or Herlings? Or Van De Mosdyk and so on, and on? Great - that proves it can be done.

So what's stopping Dodgerboy from talking to Yamaha Europe.? The bike would be set-up ready for FIM regs and would be ready to go; it'd probably be easier than taking a Star bike.

Star is not going to let their riders race a bike from another team that is different from their bikes....just like KTM wouldn't allow the Coenen's to race an AEO KTM bike in the US....still a KTM but different...

Insufferable Deegan apologist.

You would say that because you are too stupid to understand that it is a fund raising issue in the US...my opinion has nothing to do with Deegan and everything to do with the failure of the MX industry and its ridiculous failure at raising money through RaiseIt4USA....which was started to literally keep this from happening....I recommend you worry about the issues of your own C team...

So if a person waves the American flag and they, under their own choice, decides not to enlist in the military to serve and represent their country, are they hypocrites as well?

Haiden is always saying "I'm trying to put an American on the top step of the podium."

Ummm.....no the fuck you're not. Always saying he loves America but every year it's a damn excuse. Just stop saying anything about America at this point

He can talk about America all he wants, and he can wave the American flag all he wants. There is nothing hypocritical about that at all, and it isn't your place to tell him what he can and can't do.  @mooch was already proved wrong on that point, and this may come as a surprise to many here, but racing a single one-off race a year does not in any way prove or disprove one's patriotism or love for their country.  If you and mooch and all the other Deegan haters are so patriotic, then you should respect Haiden's freedom to wave the American flag and his free speech to say what he likes.
But you don't.  You want him to shut up and not wave that flag.  So let's be real; Deegan is getting shit on for not going, but he'd get shit on for going as well.  Plenty here have already said beforehand he doesn't deserve to go.  If he did go and didn't win, half of you would shit on him for not winning and laugh at him for getting beat, so despite what you say, every week when Haiden is trying to beat those Hunter brothers, he is trying to put an American on the top spot.

Deegan apologist.

Do you ever get tired of acting like a douchebag?

You think you hate the Deegan's, but you actually hate yourself. You need help.

I do wonder why Jett and Hunter don't skip the 3 rounds of SMX to get rest for the team and themselves. That's what they stated the problem was. Then they would be rested enough to race the MXDN and proudly represent their country. I'll need to spend some time pondering that one.

The current configuration for the MXDN is not tenable long term. What other professional event or show is currently run, on the scale that MXDN is, where the promotor (MXGP ran by luongo) does not have to pay the riders (performers) or the factories that support the event? Why does MXGP get to keep all of the funds? This is beyond ridiculous for MXGP to expect this to continue. I would expect that there will be much more pushback against MXGP to the point that teams will just stop supporting or attending the event due to the absurd expectations of MXGP. There needs to be a reset before the event just dies. It should not cost the teams or riders ANYTHING (within reason) to race this event. With all that being said can we get back to the endless bashing of Deegan?

Seems reasonable, everyone at Honda gets the needed rest only needing to run one race rather than 3. Looks like the obvious solution, I do wonder why both Hunter and Jet are not pushing for this. I believe Honda would be supportive, Honda doesn't want their riders to be burnt out and angry for having to attend the 3 additional SMX rounds. It does give their star riders the rest they have stated they need. I'm sure Jett and Hunter will be announcing this shortly.

Our C team will be there with the 1, 2 and 3 jerseys - they’ll be fine.

BTW the Lawrences haven’t ridden HRC bikes at the Paris SX or Aus SX for the last three years.

How about Luongo or whoever is in charge not make a profit on the MXoN and all the income just for this one race  is shared with all the teams.

Why is everyone complaining on Team Yamaha, and Kawasaki not wanting to attend because of the large amounts of money to cover all costs.

People need to complain to the MXoN people getting rich off of the backs of racers, teams, and countries.

Why can't I complain to them and the team that makes shit up when their boy decides he doesn't want to go?

That plus..  didn't they win the last two years straight??? It's not like they weaseled their way out every single time they were asked to race for their home country like cringe lord has...

It’s never an issue for any other country except USA. These smaller countries turn up year on year no matter where in the world it is. The AMA are never short of money either!

So will ours but that doesn't do anything to fix the problems that face the MXDN and the US teams inability to raise the funds necessary....not sure why you're bringing the Lawrences into a Team USA funding issue...but whatever..

Deegan's whole image and online persona is literally crumbling like a house of cards - RIP Jett and he gets made a mockery of this summer by Jett whipping his ass every week and then Captain USA wants money to turn up for his country. Only idiots with low IQ would be a fan of this kid.

You earlier commented that Star wouldn’t let Deegan race a non-Star bike.  Just saying that other top level riders have done it.

The bikes that the Lawrence's rode were maintained and built by Honda USA they might not have been full works bikes but they were under the control of the US team....they didn't use the bikes of another Honda team....apples and oranges...and I believe it was just last year that they didn't have their race bikes shipped over.

The smoke and mirrors from Star and Deegan is stupid. Bummer that Deegan doesn’t want to go.

His first will probably be whenever it’s back on US soil.

I’ll be excited to see him whenever he does, but the constant excuse making is tiring.

Crazy stat, Jetts girlfriend has the same amount of 450 moto wins, 450 laps led and MXoN appearances as Deegs the Temu patriot. Pretty funny considering he was mocking her pre season.

The team exists to win the AMA supercross and motocross championships. SMX? I haven't seen the Lawrence contracts nor have you. I'm sure at contract time either Hunter or Jett could have decided they would prefer to ride the MXDN rather than the 3 SMX races. When they negotiated their contracts they knew what races they would be running. They chose to ride SMX rather than SMX and MXDN or just MXDN. I don't believe anyone on this board is nieve enough to not understand why they made the choice they did. That's the choice I would have made as well. How about the Lawrence's just admit that SMX is more important to them than MXDN instead of pretending like the schedule is too grueling and they need a break and there are no other options. Don't race SMX problem solved. This whole thing reminds me of something Deegan would pull.

That's because all America cares about is money and fame. Those bad bad Americans don't care at all about other people. Most selfish country on the planet. All they want to do is wave their flag.

SMX pays $1,000,000 to the champ, plus another $100,000 per race win. $500,000 to second place, so likely the Lawrence family looks to earn $1.5 - $2 million in purse alone for those three races. That doesn't count manufacturer and other win/podium bonuses. You think they should forego that payout to rest up for a FIM team race? Would you?

Since the early 2000,s top riders contracts hit aprox a mil. Most of them refused to go.  It’s not 86 or 96 anymore when we had riders to challenge & a great chance to win. We,d be lucky to be 7th over all this yr.  You might want to pick another race to win . Because we won’t win this 1 again until we get a better system like in Europe to develop riders.  Phil is not racing the vmdx because it’s too serious & the pressure. He raced LL because of the bonuses  .  And that’s peanut compared to smx money.

Not really. They award a supercross champion and a motocross champion with separate titles. They also award an SMX title. Riders during contract time can negotiate what races they will compete in. Especially Jett and Hunter who are such a big draw, they can almost write their own contract. You don't seem to be fully up to speed on how sports contracts work.

things that are bizarre about this whole situation:

MXoN promoters makes unbelieveable, sell-out supercross level money on this event, does not pay expense money for what could be his biggest draw, and yet deegan gets called greedy.

This could be changed very simply by requiring a percentage of profits from this year to go into a fund to be split up for teams traveling the furthest. Maybe a formula that seeds the teams plus pays based on distance traveled.

when team USA started going over to race the MX des Nations and trophy des nations it was the most prestigious event in the world, second was the MX Gps.

Laporte and Lackey winning world championships in '82 was huge. What magoo did with 4 straight moto wins blew it away.

Team USA won 13 straight years.

in that time supercross evolved to become the most sought after title. Bayle, Vullemin (sp?), Roncoda, Albertyn, Pichon, and Reed all left the GPs to come race here.

MXoN lost it's status as the most prestigious title in MX. Racers came here to test themselves against the best, and they won.

2 out the 3 last times usa hosted the MXoN we got beat.

and now look at the current SMX championship.

A german won the Supercross title.

an Australian will win 450MX.

a Rookie from New Zealand may very well be on his way to the 250MX title.

We don't have to go to europe to race the world's best.

They come here, and they beat us.

Maybe we should start winning here again before we put so much weight on how we do in the MXoN.

You think you hate the Deegan's, but you actually hate yourself. You need help.
