Whether shock related or not, KTM needs to get their suspension issues sorted out. It’s crazy that the WP fork sucks so bad they have to mask them with KYB internals. Then they need to go to extremes just to figure the shock out. It shouldn’t be like this on any of their bikes, let alone their professional riders.

Seemed like the suspension worked great for Mookie?  Sextons issues are mental.  It has happened 87 times when he is leading.

No, no, that number is way off. It’s only 83.

Kinda looked like he had a rear flat.

So why didn't it bite Mookie in the ass? He has been blazing fast in the whoops.

Sexton makes an unbelievable number of unforced errors for a professional athlete. We’re pretty much numb to it at this point

Not sure how to break this to you, but Malcolm’s Husky has the same suspension.

You might wanna pay a pit more attention to pit bits. Sexton and Malcolm aren’t on the same setup.

After the night show we were in the pits and were watching Roger show two other KTM guys something with the throttle cable/housing on Chase’s bike. Not sure what got damaged during the crash

Post crash... If that wasnt a bike issue, it's the biggest melt down I've seen from Sexton. Probably bike related.

Him crashing in the whoops though is still inexcusable imo, unless, again, that was also bike related. Sexton used to be pretty damn good at whoops, so his bike setup is either complete garbage or he was pushing through a shock problem.

Kind of a coincidence they are now routing air to the shock, no? What's going on in there? New type of internals? Sexton is super sensitive to fade? Kind of a ramble at this point, but Sexton seems worse than Reed was when it comes to chasing settings. Reed at least seemed to have a functional understanding of what was working and what wasn't. Sexton just seems to go in circles.

I think he got tight because Malcolm was reeling him in, crashed, then had to ride a wounded bike.

When the broadcast showed him once he got going again, the front brake lever was visibly sticking out, almost flapping around, so some kind of throttle housing issue from the crash sounds logical. Now what caused the crash is anyone’s guess.

Curious to hear what he says when Lewis has his weekly bromantic interview with him. 😄

He choked each lap after that through the whoops.

I don’t know. Why did they need to run KYB components in sextons forks?

I think because Chase likes that feel better. Why was half the Honda team on KYB and the other half on Showa a few years ago?

Mookie was smoking everybody in the whoops.  You give a 1.5 second advantage per lap to any of 10 riders in 450s and they win too….but they didn’t have it and Mookie did!  It was awesome to watch!

btw…I wish I could choke like Chase and have an SX and MX championship as well as the red plate right now.  I am super glad Mookie won!!  That was one of the top things I wanted to see…but who has gone down more?  Chase will be fine but the whoops bit him tonight.  Not the only rider…and he walked away healthy with the 450 red plate.  You know who didn’t?  Everybody else in the world.

Because KYB and Showa make forks that are good. Those riders chose what they liked best. WP has to use KYB’s components and still cover the forks with WP stickers and act like it’s their own. I don’t see anyone on Yamahas trying to replicate the WP fork. And for good reason.

Because they're likely running very different setups?...

While i do think the KYB/Showa components are better, a large part of it likely has to do with the chassis.  An alu frame simply does certain things better than a chromoly chassis.

Rumor has it Suzuki is slated to buy out KTM. KTM ‘s terrible financial decisions have played right into Suzukis hands. Dumping $100 a year into a new bike with a 2-3k profit per machine has worked out.

That’s crazy that sexton folded like that for Mookie.  Like who would of guessed that.  I still think something had to be wrong

Off topic, but why do so many people write "should of", "would of"..? It's not slang, it's not shorter, it sounds dumb... Every time I see that, it feels like a 10 year old writing words exactly as he hears them lol
