I really don't know what you guys are hearing that you interpreted as matthes defending him. He admitted he's friends with him, admitted he really didn't have any insight into what was going on, and he let the guy talk. Felt neutral and fair to me.

For me, one glaring aspect of Mirtl popping in on Pulp involved his verbal skills being as horrendously bad as his writing skills. Guy stumbled around with his words , talked in circles and was just the opposite of being convincing on anything he said. That whole look made it even harder to understand how he was able to hold down a high profile position that would routinely involve writing and speaking to others in order to represent his clients. His Bro skills must have been off the hook at some point.
That he thought he could get away with any of this mega-blatant thievery is mind numbing. It's all very hard to believe someone could be that careless when stealing that much money but I thought the Alpine Star scheme was particularly idiotic.

It's hilarious to think that these guys saying Matthes is defending him are probably the same guys that would be trying to burn him at the stake if he'd come out saying Mirtl was in the wrong. They'd be saying, "Matthes is a terrible schill who is willing to throw someone he called a friend under the bus". I actually think the larger moto media guys who also have been friends/friendly/cordial with Mirtl over the years have done a very respectable job at not jumping to conclusions and siding with the people with pitch forks. That's how it should be, innocent until proven guilty, ESPECIALLY if your only actions with the guy yourself have been positive. The people that jump on the bandwagons to cancel or "me too" people the moment someone has a negative word spewed about them are the worst IMO. A lot of the blue check mark mafia will jump on people they've called colleagues or friends just b/c it's the politically correct/nicer looking side to be on.
