He looked like he was completely riding over his head, making mistakes everywhere, cutting the track, then 2 crashes. I can kind of hang with some A riders for a lap or 2, but I'm absolutely terrified...

Yeah but you can just tell the AMA to bring the guy into the room with you so you can intimidate him. If that doesn't work, just call Yamaha and they'll shake him down til he gives up. And afterwards, if the story gets out they'll call in Steve Matthes to make sure everyone blames the guy who followed the rules.
