They’d better not release some emisson restricted, crappy suspension, heavy, boring, two stroke (like the two stroke equivalent of the klx300)…that would be a major disappoint…they’d better go full on Mx bike or off road race bike…250 or 300…

Baby steps😃

I never felt comfortable on the last generation of KX 2 strokes.  The ergo's felt awkward to me.  The 2016 KX450 was great.

i'll let anyone ride my TMR Built 2006 KX250 for 5 laps and tell me they want one over a four stroke, i love that thing because it's a beast and a blast to ride but, my KTM 350 is better by far in every imaginable way! Most people that ride it come back in two laps and say “how did we ride these things back in the day!” 😂

I put some laps on my ‘04 at the track last weekend and you ain’t kidding. Way more work and talent required to go fast. My talent is minimal and I am waaaaay old for this. Had a blast just the same! It would be awesome to see Kawasaki come out with a budget friendly platform!IMG 0859 1.jpeg?VersionId=jUy4rxslu pZ

Fuck, starting to stretch now so I can try and shove my foot in my mouth when it’s actually a new KX.

I just really, really hope it is NOT a complicated, computer controlled injected mess.

Complexity kind of kills the appeal of the two stroke for me. Unnecessary complexity is what people want less of....

Got a stock 05 that I love riding. I’d love to ride one with the motor done. Fun factor I’m choosing this thing all day over the 4 strokes. Racing I’m choosing the 4.

That is what is so cool about 2 strokes,  it takes talent to ride them proper.

Nice bike BTW!

Ditto.

The beauty of a 2T for offroad is its mechanical simplicity and the inherent lightweight and reliability. I've been saying for years the market needs another KDX - a competent, affordable 2T that can be enjoyed by a beginner and raced at a high level with some mods.

Some people prefer supermodels and others go for chubby soccer moms with bobbed-off hair.

Guess it depends on how thrilled you want to be when the ride is over.

Nothing wrong with fitting a two stroke engine in four stroke chassis. I did it to an RMZ and it handles way better than the steel frame I had a couple decades on PXL 20240720 163034463.PORTRAIT

Just showed the Instagram post to my wife. Exchange:

"Holy shit!"

looks at me

I stare back smiling

"No new bikes!"

I stare at her

She stares at me

"I mean it!"

I keep staring with a smile

Always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission 😅

Kawasaki thinks so and advertises capabilities for it. People here are forgetting Yamaha never stopped making the YZ250 2 stroke and the YZ250X GNC inspired bike is gonna be the competition for anybody else. I'm not familiar with the full Austrian list of models but believe there's a couple 2T KTM offers as more enduro than SX targeted? could be wrong about that...

No where near conparable to a yz250x, or any of ktm’s Offroad models. 2 stroke or 4.

I think RDnutz is confusing the KLX300 with the KLX300R. The 300R is a pure trail bike, not a dual sport. Not that it’s in a comparable class to Euro 300 smoker, but it comes closer to fitting the bill of a KDX200 than anything else in the Kawasaki lineup.

It’s a trail bike with little 43mm forks.

I own both two and four strokes, I have for years. As I know many people do. The four strokes are easier to ride and probably faster, but the two stroke is unquestionably funner. They both have their places. A four stroke seems "mechanical" that you "drive", a two stroke seems "organic" that you "ride". If that makes any sense.

Nice.

Had the 2003 model - fun bike but would vibrate itself in circles in the driveway when on the axle stand. 😄

Well the guy who told me has been involved with Factory Kawasaki for years in the past, and I didn’t take it seriously back then. It could be accurate after all if they really going to launch a new KX….

Haha that was right before the 2 stroke nationals in 2020. Believe it or not, that bike has HUNDREDS of hours! We’ve had it since brand new in 2004.

Correct. But it’s not a dual sport, was my point.
