Supercross ticket prices

Long story short, I've noticed over the last several years when trying to attend SX's that the tickets I've looked at from ticketmaster and seatgeek are *almost always reseller tickets and double or more inflated prices. To me allowing some bot or corporation or individual to buy up 100's of seats then resale them for double, triple, quadruple prices is BS. I don't see how they expect a family of 4 to be able to afford to continue attending these events. I added up on ticketmaster for the Nashville race, cost of 4 including $15ea for fan fare and with fees and taxes it was over $600. Woohoo

I brought 10 people! to the Denver Supercross last year and they had never been to a race before.

We bought the tickets during one of the early bird sales they had and the tickets were around 30% off I think.

Exactly NONE of them want to go again this year because there was no sale and the ticket prices are just plain stupid.

By the way, the justice department is suing Ticketmaster and Live Nation for alleged monopoly.

F**k TicketMaster/LiveNation.    I avoid doing business with them at all costs. Thieving bastards.     If I can't buy/pick up tix at the box office, I don't go.

The same FTC (our government) that back in 2010 looked at the monopoly situation (over 80% of all event tickets sold) and allowed Ticketmaster & LiveNation to merge in the first place. Fucking government won't do shit. They're just looking for a payout by acting like they care

In the mid 90's Pearl Jam warned everyone about ticket monster. Ironic twist? Pearl Jam is on tour right now, guess who you have to go through to buy tickets???

I've always bought tickets from a local shop and avoided the fees. There will usually be 1 or 2 shops in said city selling tickets. A little tough to do if you're traveling a long distance, but im sure they'll also sell them over the phone and hold for you to pick them up.

One local shop here used to do that (Motoworld El Cajon)....sadly, no longer.

Keep an eye out for privateers looking for a little help on weekends.  I have seen plenty of them looking for a “mechanic” to help them at the gate during race day.  Does not help much for a party of 10, but it isn’t a bad way to view a race.

I bought tickets for Philly back in December, they were I think 30% off, the price came to just shy of $50 each after fees for level 100 ticket seats about 10 rows back. A family member thought he was getting tickets from a friend, but it didn't pan out. The same tickets are now being sold for resale around $144 (before fees). I got 8 tickets for just shy of $400 back in December.

Buy early and when they are on sale.

What also sucks, they almost always seem to be the best seats as well.  So they are already on the spendy side, but with the extra reseller inflated prices, it is awful.  But the only way to get a good seat where you want it, is to pay out the nose.  Agreed with Sam, they are going to price themselves into oblivion.  I would say it will stop people from going, but look at what people are paying to go to concerts nowadays, they know some sucker is going to pay.

I wasn't able to go to Nashville this year as I have family in town, but when I was thinking of going and looked at seat prices, I about fell out of my chair.

How can I find this? I've always wanted to be a "man friend" for a weekend. I'm no crew chief, but I can gopher food, tools, be a spotter, watch the pit during the race... I'd love to be in someone's corner.

Monopoly.

I recently went to purchase a couple of concert tickets to a mid level show in St Paul. High demand for that concert results in surge pricing from AXS. So instead of my tickets being $35/ticket they were $75/ticket.
Get outta here with that shit

They’re ridiculous. All sports tickets. If your ticket is 50, it’s really at least 75 after fees. Convenience fees I guess? Not sure what is convenient about them.

1982 summer VH diver down tour in 9th grade the tickets where 12.50.  I think the tshirt was the same. I wore it once because they were really thin & cheap    T shirt is 500 + now.  05 Indy sx I walked up & said sell me your best ticket. I think it was 44.00 a decent seat too.

That's no joke.

Went to see Jimmy Buffet last year (sadly, just shortly before he passed) at the new Snapdragon stadium.    Parking was $50.00,    that just pisses me off.    We can afford that stuff, but it doesn't make it right.    I hate being robbed by these companies.   Won't make that mistake again.

It was $25 the year before, like wtf makes someone think, oh lets increase the parking price on top of $50 tickets.

Always plan what race we are gojng to and buy tickets during a sell. Got the best seats in the house at A2 for like $125.

Were they at least the good club seats? That's about what I paid for the nice club seat at Gillette last weekend. Padded seats. No lines for food. It was nice and warm when you went I side which was huge because it was cold as fuck Saturday night. They were expensive but I just expect it at this point. Its not just supercross. Tickets to any events are this now. Go to see a big name standup comedian, a concert, etc always inflated prices

Our whole desert crew used to go to A-1 religiously. I’d take both kids and usually one of their friends each. None of us go anymore because it’s so expensive. But they still sell out so I don’t see it getting any cheaper

Just looked at Denver tickets. $35 each plus $29.20 for service fee, $8.00 facility charge, order processing fee $6.00. for a total of $113.20

I generally ride the moto to the race, street park a block away and have an easy exit. ( KTM 1190 AdventureR so its a little harder to make disappear than a smaller bike )

To me this is an ok amount for a date with my gal. I would not go if I was a parent. Tack on the things that make it a memory for a child and I could see that amount skyrocketing to fuck no money. But you know by all means continue to try and grow the sport...

Follow them on social media. I know my son has found help through his IG in the past when he was traveling alone.

Why "sadly"?

Seems fortunate.

I could see it being "sadly" if you'd gotten there shortly after he passed.Wink

But knowing the way the crooks operate these days, you probably would have gotten a "weekend at Bernie's" style show so they wouldn't have to refund the tickets. Grinning

Yeah, I haven't even been to a Jimmy Buffett concert but my dad has, there was a concert he wanted to go to with George Strait and Jimmy Buffett and someone else but didn't go. He went to stagecoach with my mom a few times too and he brought the old trailer. I love country music, not most of the new stuff.
