So, yesterday on Twitter, Savatgy apparently "learned" he could race a 250 in the 450 class and it basically became a free for all of everyone telling him he should go for it. I highly doubt it happens but I have to give credit to JS17 for keeping himself in the discussions and relevant on social media. It would be pretty cool to see him give it a shot though.

Learned??? 250’s have always been allowed to race in the 450 class.
Mormons are always the last ones to get the news.
Depending on the track layout the 250 can be competitive. The problem is when the track has features that only the 450's can jump it becomes non competitive.

His post was "I don't even know the rules. Can you actually race a 250 in the 450 class? I thought it had a minimum cc"
So yeah, he learned something new to him. It seems like common knowledge but I'm sure lots of these guys just got on a bike and went.
He also stated later he wasn't doing it, he was just asking. Could be an opportunity thought to enter a couple event on the right tracks.
hope they go through with this!
You'd be surprised how many people (pros included) haven't read the rule book. don't know the rules other than on track regulations
I like Savatgy but this 250 class shit is annoying.
You would think Triumph would make him ride the bike in the 450 class. That would be good exposure. Especially if he gets that bike in mains and top 15 finishes.
Not true. For years the rules said it had to be "251cc-450cc Four Stroke in the 450 Class. Only until recently they've allowed it.
I recommended him to race the new Triumph in the 450 class right when I heard about them not letting Savatgy race the 250 class. He wouldn't be in it for the title, but at least its exposure for the brand. He'll most likely make some Mains..
Guys have been racing a 250 in the 450 class since like 2010. Savatgy just complaining and not even realizing he can still actually race. Tell Osborne to give him that pass back for the championship so we don’t have to hear Joey anymore. Jk, that comeback and pass was just beautiful lol

Going back to 250 SX is a great idea, Joey. We all know it went so well the last time
Douchebag post of the week right there...
Not sure why he posted that. He knew he can race the 250 in the 450 class, he even broke down all the reasons why he wouldn’t race it in the 450 class on pulp.
Sorry but I don’t think he should be allowed to drop down for either championship. He raced for championships already almost won. He pointed out at the time he was racing that class. So in the end he should be on just a 450
What are you smoking?
Ever since the Hooters incident he has been a moron.
Pit Row
I'm pullin for Joey no matter what he does as far as classes....
Some real dick comments in here.
Joey needs to give up the 250 thing. He had what 3-5 years in that class and didnt win a title. What makes him think he will be able to beat the new crop of kids. Give it up you tried and pointed out. Suck it up and race a 450 or go buy a 450 and race.
Good exposure?
He'd get spanked so bad his ass would glow in the dark.
That actually looks like Tim Ferry.
From Triumph's side, they are launching a new bike. Even though they've had guys like RC, Tedesco and Desalle developing it, they are probably still a bit concerned about exactly where they land in the pecking order. Putting a guy in the premiere class on an under-powered bike is a pretty big roll of the dice, and they've been pretty conservative to this point with the launch. There is potential upside with hardcore fans who know the differences, and who buy the bike but seeing your best rider get 19th in the main is probably not how Triumph wants to begin.
As for Joey, he's spent months campaigning that he (and Shane) should be allowed back in 250s. Yes, the rules changed. Yes, the rules were different when you pointed out. BUT YOU POINTED OUT. So did Shane. Both of you won many races and almost won titles. But only one guy is continually complaining about it.
I just don't get why he's so confident that he'd be a consistent winner or title threat in the class, what "unfinished business" does he really have when he couldn't get it done on the best bike and with the best team. He had his shot, he failed, now he has a great opportunity to prove himself on a 450. Feels like an NBA player trying to get back into College because they haven't won a game yet.
To his credit his employer doesn't have a 450 to race in '24. His contract situation hasn't been very stable the last few years, so the security of a 2 year deal with a legit team had to sound better than another year of hoping for a fill-in ride or wonky WSX as a backup. Even if it meant no SX and 250 MX in '24. Not to mention there is a Hooters in nearby Macon. lol
His goal for outdoors is also to win the title.
Title threat? I don't see it.
He's six years removed from the 250 class, he turns 30 next month, and he's on a brand new motorcycle that is yet to be proven.
Is it just me or are there a bunch of peeps in here talking shit on a racer that’s seemingly considering racing a 250 in the 450 class?
A racer that was well inside the top 10 of the SX points during his run at the beginning of last season on a privateer bike(PC “customer bike”)…beating plenty of fast guys on factory bikes.
No worries. He’s got a ride and I’m sure he’ll put in some great motos and I’d definitely love to see him race Supercross…against 450s…on his TF250X
No surprise...most of the folks you're referring to here rarely post anything positive.
What does this have to do with anything? Just you being a bigoted dickhead?
