Good point. Remember how cold Eli was in the press conference when someone in the media asked him how much he would give Joey and he only answered with "no comment"? I wonder if Joey ever received something for that.
More likely the McCarty/Hannah rule.
Hopefully this nips it in the bud.
It’s not difficult to extrapolate that the combination of a short series, the scoring system and the big $$$ on offer could lead to this sort of thing.
I'm considering a class action lawsuit or maybe even perform a citizen's arrest

I thought the same thing!!!
If you've been here a minute you know I love me some Hunter brothers.
But, Jett fucked up. He actually admitted (without knowing the rule) on the podium that he "manipulated" the outcome of the race.
I'd hate to see his results changed but...whatever the penalty is...he should have gotten it.
No one is above the rules of the sport or we won't have a sport.
Pleading ignorance may be true but never an excuse.
I only say all this because I have no doubt Jett will still dominate. Never met a 20 year old that didn't benefit from a kick in the ass when their head got to big.
Decosta going to have this rule changed if he has a KTM in the title fight come 24
I wonder if this rule would apply in a situation where for rider 1 to win the championship, his competitor, rider 2, has to finish outside the top 10. Rider 1 pulls the holeshot but intentionally falls back so that he can bang bars with rider 2 hoping to cause a mistake that would cause rider 2 to finish outside the top 10.
In other words, if I remember correctly, slowing down like Tomac did so that he could try to disrupt Dungey's race.
This wouldn't have happened if they were paying points for each moto like Motorcross. Instead they are only paying the overall, if that moto was worth 50 points Jett wouldn't have pulled over.
So what was the point?
You ain't wrong.
Well... you would have to prove it was deliberate, and not that the planets happened to line up that way at that moment in time. Bigbrain, on the other hand, confessed it all on live tv.
Agreed he screwed up. As I said above I assume the AMA investigated appropriately to mete out the correct penalty (in this case a warning).
One thing is for sure - if anyone thought they could pressure Jett into letting them past they’d better think again.
Lass than 3 weeks ago that rule and rule book did not exist
Does trying to win a race, count as attempting to manipulate the outcome of the Race?
That sucks but fortunately for me, I've been on the other side of that. I use to be a part of a league where, for one game a week, you would get two numbers, one for each team. At the end of each quarter, if your numbers matched the 2nd digit of the score, you would get paid.
There was less than a minute on the clock before the half and one team had the ball on their own 30 yard line. Instead of running the clock out, they threw an interception that left just enough time for the opposing team to kick a field goal. By doing that, the final score at the end of the half matched my numbers and I got $200. That was clutch for me as I was a broke college kid at the time.
So there had to of been a few people that were pumped about the Rams meaningless field goal haha
Some folks are getting a little too wrapped around the axle about a dirt bike race…
Pit Row
Makes me wonder if Marvin knew about the rule when he "made a mistake."
Personally, if it were me, I'd rather it look like I made a mistake or had bike issues. Then at least you could kind of stay in the head of your competitors leaving them thinking that they were only able to pass you because of an issue. That sounds better than the speculation that Roczen was catching Jett and Jett wasn't able to hold him off. Not saying that is the case for this scenario but I've heard people say that and Roczen sure believes he caught Jett fair and square and could of passed him without the "gift." It would actually take some of Roczen confidence away if he thought he was fast enough to catch Jett to then find out that it was only because of a bike problem.
Anyways, I agree, at least make it look like a mistake or bike issue. That was a bad look for the sport and in the moment I was speechless and bummed because I wanted to see that battle down to the wire.
Are any of the major sportsbooks even taking bets for any form of moto?
Was the Monster Cup an AMA sanctioned race?
What’s your point? It’s the rules for the series he’s racing?
Also a similar rule existed for motocross and supercross.
Where does the Tomac "bunching" to try and beat Dungey in Vegas fit into this?
thank you.
even the AMA doesn't know how it wants to handle rule infractions. Some days the AMA is cranky and they levy actual penalties, and some days they're stoned and just issue a warning and a shoulder shrug.
what's the point of the fucking rule if you're not going to DO anything when it's broken?
What would RJ say?
He got a warning - that was the penalty.
Tomac never got passed if I remember right tho
I was in Las Vegas and they had prop betting on Jett winning 1-1 . I’m sure gambling bookies were not happy customers
It’s borderline Race fixing the results. Also, if Jett “let him pass” why was Jett looking down at his bike like there was a mechanical problem??? For half a lap he was acting like the bike had an issue
Reed did something similar to Stewart in Vegas in '09.
