The Suzuki R&D department has left the building.... 10 years ago.

Now, it's just as expensive AND you get even more nothing! Imagine buying this thing new at a dealership?
I just… I just don’t get it. Suzuki has to do one thing, and one thing only to stay relevant. Add an estart. Sure, all of you macho guys can say it’s not that hard to kick start… but why when estarts exist? I suppose y’all also want 4 strokes to go back carburetors too smh. (Side note - kick start a bike on a right hand off camber and tell me it’s no big deal)
We don’t want a PC pipe. We don’t want BNG. The bike is fine, just add an effing estart and keep pricing competitive. We will buy it. It’s not rocket science.
They’re going to lose whatever dealers they had after this. Kenny was supposed to inspire them to put out a bike that would sell. They’re just grabbing as much cash as they can now before they’re gone entirely. I say they’re completely out of the sport by the time Triumph and Ducati come around in 2026.
In Italy, Valenti-Racing sells the E-Start kit as early as 2018... of course the weight of the bike increases and if I remember correctly it cost 900€

Suzuki have to sell 1000€ cheaper so the customer can buy that
I think it’s more like 12 years..
What did everybody expect? Where should the R&D for a new bike come from if they have no R&D department anymore? Maybe if they‘d outsource to KTM…
It does sell for that.
It's just stupidly not obvious that it does, because it is hidden in their seemingly perpetual $1000 manufacturer's rebate program
Adding battery and start to heaviest 450f motocross bike wont make it better just even heavier.
So should we start an RMZ remembrance thread? Lol
If a kickstart and a carburetor brought the price of bikes down another 1,000 bucks 2000 bucks out the door over efi and e start. Sign me up all day long. If I could walk out for 10 grand with a 250 and a 450 like. I did in 08 through 2011. I'm all for it.
Do I smell a 24.5 factory edition with a #94 on it and e start ?
It's hard to tell exactly what you're saying but i'll gladly pay an extra $1500 for e start and fuel injection.
My crf250r was $9300 out the door.
Just offer the bike for 6k plus ttl. They are not going to change it so make it a introductory bike and let it fly.
Yes
250f for 5k and 450 for 6k would be legit.

Because it's fun to smoke dudes like you on.
Fixed it. Damn talk to text.
Heh, smokin dudes.
There is a market for a decent, dated bike, for sure. There is a niche to be had there: The price needs to be significantly less than all the others.
It isn't.
Anybody know where the extra weight comes from? Cases, transmission, clutch?
The riders right leg muscles.
Not sure what you are sniffing but no way in hell is there going to be an 24.5 FE
Suzuki is paying more for raw materials, manufacturing, labor, and shipping costs most likely than 2022/2023 but should lower the cost of their bike to 6G? If that logic makes sense to you please don’t run a business (or reproduce) Also, the writing is on the wall for Zook, a blind man can see they’re on their way out. We’ve got diehards at the races still running them in our area, but most are in the vet class. Very few if any younger riders are on them. For them to make a comeback at this point would be a miracle. Bummer.
Lol fuck you for your run a business or reproduce comments.
but they can reduce the price because they’re spending zero on r&d, zero on test riders, zero on engineers.
gm allocated 900+ million to the next duramax Diesel engine development, Suzuki’s allocated zero into the Rmz since 18 and not a helluva lot since 08. The engine shares 99% with the 08 still to this day same with the 250.
and if they want to have any market share reducing the price and becoming the budget , rock solid reliable, option is a viable one.
When the updated 2018 bike was released, it was in early January so it was similar situation to what KTM does with their “Factory Editions”. I’m not saying it is going to happen, but I suppose it’s not out of the question for them to release the info on a 2025 bike early.
Materials and manufacturing costs is only part of the pricing equation.
The other manufacturers spend a lot of money on R&D and updating the bikes every few years. There is a lot financially that goes into this process, and it recouped by bike sales. Since Suzuki does not invest much money in this area, there should be room on the table for their bikes to be priced lower.
You can blame Consumer Reports intentional false assessment of the Suzuki Samauri for the current state of Suzuki.
