I think he saw JS7 in the booth and knew his chance was over and decided to move on. I dont think being a trackside reporter pays much and not worth it spending so much time away from family.

Imagine thinking Daniel Blair was going to stay with Feld for life. Haha. They pissed on him all the time because he didnt have a Championship. Duder was by far the best trackside and booth announcer they had and they couldnt even realize it.

Daniel will do great at the KTM gig. Feld just dropped the ball again. Im getting used to watching them screw up.

So do we now see Wedge's role expanded in SX/SMX coverage.....

I agree. Weege is the best in my book. He can do analyst or commentary. I am surprised by DB's move though. I really like him in those roles. It must not be for the money. I have to think the NBC gig paid more than the KTM Amateur thing. But who knows I could be wrong.

Major Conspiracy: JS7 landed a multi-year deal which took the spot from DB, Ciancarulo is retiring and taking the sideline gig. No room for DB. lol

Daniel is very good, he's both charismatic and articulate, and may very well see opportunities in the future if he wants them.  But honestly, I don't...

Daniel is very good, he's both charismatic and articulate, and may very well see opportunities in the future if he wants them.  But honestly, I don't watch the races to listen to the announcers, and given then state of broadcasting in other sports I don't think the roster matters as much as people think and not as much as the quality of the visual production overall and attending to the actual race.

I have no idea who that is. Then again, I'm a University of Michigan fan. haha

DB was never going to be the analyst role because he never had the championship pedigree to warrant it, but he was perfect for the play by play role because he had the knowledge of being a racer and was smooth on the mic.

Hopefully we get more Weege in that role moving forward for SX, MX, and SMX.

College Football or NFL?  I believe he said his announcing goal was to eventually make it to the NFL.

Jollyon palmer doesn't have any F1 WCs and does great. Felds just narrow minded.

While I like a good conspiracy theory, and most lately have come true, this one is absolutely 100% false. 👍🏻

Best part of the video was the announcement of the half hour break between the first and second motos at all the rounds for the halftime show.

Ugh, this sucks.  He was by far the best guy we've had in the booth for Supercross.  Play by play or analyst.  Wonder if JT won't do track reporting full time next year.

So it's Feld's fault for DB wanting to put more focus on his KTM job and family....Ok....

DB was the absolute best. I sure hope the saving grace here is that Weege is in the booth full time next SX season.

This 100%. Does not matter who announces one bit to me.

I remember a few years ago listening to MEM when Blair was saying he was going on for trackside reporter for the first time.  I was stoked for him then and I'm stoked to see he has made his way from the ground up.  Huge loss for the SX broadcast but I wish him the best.  He is a hard working dude with a plan.

Daniel Blair is a class act as a human being in general, for example no one asked him to do the Blairs breakdown that's just love for the sport.

All the best.

Beth is atrocious as an announcer.  She talks out of the side of her mouth and Its massively annoying.  I literally can't watch a football game she calls.  Yes, she knows the sport but good grief its painful to listen to her call a game.

Sounds like he's setting himself up to fully support his kid's racing career.

Run Orange brigade to always give him bikes and run a facility to always give him a great place to ride.

And always have all expenses paid or tax deductible for going to the amateur nationals and big races.

I'm at a similar stage in life and have done a similar thing with work.

I don't understand all the butthurt about Blair in this thread. Isn't he the same guy everyone was bitching about getting a hard on every time he mentioned Jett in a broadcast?

As long as we get Uncle Jim Holley to replace him, I’m good….

I can barely pay attention to a game if she is announcing because of that annoying affect she has on her voice.

I always breathed a sigh of relief when I saw him in the booth for the night show. He did a great job. I personally will miss him on both Raceday Live and the Night program. DB is a hard worker with a great future ahead of him. Can't fault a guy for wanting to grow. I'm sure he'll be successful in all aspects. Best of luck Daniel Blair.
