Mammoth

It would be a VERY seasonal gig with plenty to do during “the off season” Laughing

Easy for me - Hangtown.

I'm 34 now - I grew up 15 min from Prairie City OHV Park where Hangtown is located. From 4 years old I would ride the kids tracks, my dad would take me on all the trails, he would put me on his old 1989 KX250 sitting in front of him and I would hold onto the crossbar to go on the adult track (not Hangtown) to show me how to corner, brake, clutch, etc.  Once I was getting a lot better and moved up to an 80 (1992 KX80) I finally got to go out on the big scary Hangtown track. Back then it was owned by the State Park so the conditions were terrible. They maybe groomed it once a week, watered once a day which flooded the track for an hour every time. It was pretty bad.

Then I believe around 1999 or so a guy by the name of Dave Matson took over control of the track making it private. He completely renovated the track it was amazing. I'll never forget the first day after it re-opened the dirt was groomed perfectly, watered just right, and the jumps were insane. Super crisp take-offs, huge doubles but nothing real crazy, even had a whoop section. Dave and my Dad kinda became friends and gave us more access than others.

This is where my main reason comes from. I remember going there at the crack of dawn, the way the dirt looked and smelled in the morning was pure bliss.  Dave would be on the tractor churning up the dirt and it amazed me how this track went from being destroyed to this beautiful work of art. The sun would peep over the hills making it look like a dream.  They also had Thursday night practice during Spring/Summer, it went from like 3pm until sunset.  One of my greatest memories ever is jumping the big downhill double during sunset, it looked like you were jumping off the edge of the earth into the sunset. I've actually told my wife that once I pass I want my ashes spread up on that hill where the jump was (and still is kinda there).  I also had maybe my best race ever there, crashing in the first turn and coming all the way back to make the pass for 1st with 3 turns remaining.

It's pure nostalgia for me especially since I haven't been able to ride in 22 years but I have so many great memories at that track and the entire park itself it's a no brainer decision for me.

Barona Oaks is in my hometown and I've often thought about having my ashes spread there, as well.

Millville. There actually looking for workers. A variety of work would be fun. Super series has 10or 12 rnds . A vet race with 18+ 125. 2 amateur days of the national.  Who knows what the pay is. If I hv to get a part time job doing anything I will. There’s a lot of sand track 1-2 hrs away. A Fri night series. Fair races there’s weeks where you could race 4 times .

It’s funny you say that - the Mrs. has specific instructions to spread my ashes as Mammoth.

That place has always been my happy place. Not even the town itself. Specifically the track…not a bad place to spend eternity

'Dilla. Two sweet tracks and, with a bit of work, a full GNCC track.

Advantages of being a track worker #1 . I would know when the gate is dropping. 2 getting the bike setup for the whoops& the Hot lines .  I checked the 125 class lap times the day after the national. Some r below 2.00 yeah there fast.  I actually rode & worked after riding the day after the 97 national. We had alot of fun. We climbed the tower at sunset b4 I left. The track looks like a dream.

8D4F4EA5-3CA4-419F-B78D-FC1B203132F5Zaca Station. Good weather year round, amazing track, pop over to the beach or some wineries after you moto. This was everything my 250F had in 4th gear (bikes were a bit slower in 2007).

The wood was gone but the 1,200 ft drop was there yet. I rode there a lot b4 I got busted . Lucky my chic wasn’t with that day she like to run around naked. It was funny this guy yelling what the hell r u doing on my in-laws property, etc. I,m calling the sheriff. I told him it’s my 1st time here a bro in Green Bay told me I could ride here, etc. haha

I agree with Mammoth for year round, but if only focusing on quality of moto Red Bud or Monster Mountain.  Monster Mountain can be ridden almost year round.
