I haven't listened to the show but "Jap" may or may not be racist, depending on how it's being used. It could be used derisively, or as an abbreviation. It's the context that matters. On the one hand, some are too quick to cry "racist" when it's not warranted. This sort of virtue policing is insufferably irritating and infantile. On the other hand, it can be easy to give your hero a pass he doesn't deserve. I don't know which is the case here. If he was racist, there's nothing "tough" about tolerating it, or "soft" about calling it out. Bullies and their enablers aren't "real men" (again, not saying that necessarily applies here). Real men stand up to bullies and defend their targets. Bullies and those impressed by them tend to be powerless, insecure men who like to puff out their chest to compensate for their inadequacies with comically phony shows of manufactured machismo.

This is my normal account. I served my country my Dad did in WW2 And my grandfather W1 it's called having some self discipline. I just don't agree that he should be saying (Japs) this and (Japs) that!
And, yet…

You embarrass them by not being able to embrace the freedom and tolerance they fought for.

If the term “Jap’s” puts you on your heels? Well, I think Magoo’s thoughtfully posted “Cry Closet” really does apply to you.

To be honest, I would never use the term like "jap'....but...I don't think it's racist.

My father-in-law calls refers to me as a "Ginney" in fun due to my Italian heritage. I'm not offended.

There is no doubt as to Bobs arrogance....it doesn't bug me at all.

Can we retire the word snowflake? It's awful. Just call them what they are, pussies
Agreed!

Same goes for:

"Butthurt"
"living rent free in your head".

All are SO played out.

I think the biggest wow moment. was when Ping mentioned " Nazi".
This was exactly the WTS I was hoping for. Well done.

Big age gaps. Jesus! Alf the alien was 40 yrs ago, WW2 was 40 before that
He was 19 on the 6th June 1944, had 4 kids with his last one being born in 1964!

Hell of a man! They don't make them like that anymore.

How does not being in title contention Have anything to do with a desire to win at all costs. Actually, when you are not in a position of points lead, you have nothing to lose and usually that equates to totally riding on the edge and doing whatever it takes. Your assessment simply does not make sense. Convince me.

If I'm a betting man, I bet Stevie's full of chit. He get's triggered because Hannah refers to the Japanese as "Japs"??? Really?? He sounds more like an avg 20 something snowflake.
I wouldn't call bulshit smarty pants. I'm 62 and my Dad fought in WW2 in both the North Atlantic on destroyers and in the pacific on PT boats. My sales rep in Australia is 55 and his Dad flew Spitfires in the war.

What a boring shit show. Could have consolidated it down to 20 minutes, really. Not a mention of those Exotic Hondas from '83-'85? Joking? At least he talks like a normal human, saying it old school, respect for not giving a fuck what folks think.

Is there any topic in here that does not invoke an immediate argument? I do know when I posted about picking up my 2023 KTM 350SX-F everyone was pretty chill... Other than that? It just seems like someone is always pissed about something. Sometimes, it is because someone isn't pissed about something. Sorry. (Now back to your regularly scheduled pissing contest!)
Edit: Yes, I was recently in one with "Jeff Roberts". (not trying to sound holier than thou) Oh shit! look at me now bringing religion into this!???

because the comment was that hannah would kill anyone FOR THE WIN.

JB and VF are not winning a damn thing. Outside of Barcia's A1 random victories or an outlier national. So those guys pinballing around the track are not at all comparisons to Hannah's aggressive style as he was fighting for yet ANOTHER championship.

I respect the dude for his talent and heart. But no way I can listen to him regale tales for four hours. Did he at least go with 'no disrespect' like Parcells?

Pretty big range of possible ages for wW2 parents. Considering a man can sire children well into his 60s I think, maybe later.

His talent and desire to win were 2nd to none. If indeed he introduced himself to DV as legend tells me all I need to know. Growing up a Howerton fan at the time I could have care lessed about him.

1976 with my own money I bought a Mx mag
At 9. I hid it down my pants after I bought it so my mom wouldn’t see it. She would burn it probably worse than having a playboy. Mid Ohio GP race coverage was cool. I thought Bob was cool saying he was racing for kicks. The bikes where really cool looking with finned heads. The adds for DG etc where very cool. I never heard a Mx bike but I needed 1 now and dreamed of 1 day buying my own. Probably 7th grade I had a page of mag ripped out on my wall of Bob on the OW. My brother in law looked very similar to Bob when he was younger. My chic and I where walking across the infield at Millville. And out of nowhere Hannah walking towards us is rt there. Quicker than you could blink I said Bob Hannah and had my hand out. He was cool smiled shook my hand, he had good energy. My chic was mega hot he was prob walking towards her to check it out a bit. Haha it was 94 and muggy she said I,m dropping my bra. I said it’s a Motorcycle race Let them breath, she had a tube top on. 1 of Bob,s sayings work hard when your young and play later. I modified it a bit to more than 100 men could give in effect today never think of tomorrow . 88-98 traveling on the worlds strongest hhg rig. It works I made a name for myself at the biggest co in America as someone that can not b out worked and was The Boss at young age. You do get injured a lot like that tho.
And spend ovr 100k pieceing yourself together. But his phrase is true you better show what you got when your young because the world is about youth. 8 yrs ago I was going to move to Holland , most of my moms side r there. If I was under 32 it would b easy ovr that forget it.

Do you refer to British folks as Brits? Germans as Krauts? Aussies? Kiwis? Yanks? Swedes? Stop being such a pussy... nothing he said was racists, you just want to be offended.

Ping asked him specifically about the first Honda he rode, the 82 works bike. He also spoke about the 83 and how good it was. Maybe try again and pay attention this time?

The pussification of America is tragic... It's time for a wake up call.

Bob is a legend, and I guess that offends some people.

Bob was one of the great talents both on a dirt bike and in an airplane.

But he always has been kind of a dickhead - I've crossed his path a couple times over the years going back to 1981 or so, and he seems to be the same guy now he was back then. I have not seen the WTS show yet.

I respect and admire the man for being one of the great racers of all time, but as a person, Meh...
