Dv was right on everything... especially the ridiculous amount of commercials.... his insite is top notch...

But...

He came across poorly... he came across as an angry man.... nobody likes an angry man.... the cursing, especially at mathes sponsors... was over the line.... I get it dv... the over the top Phoenician materialism on the pulp show is too much and quite frankly sad to see... but... his show, his mistakes...
Speaking of "coming across as an angry man"...kinda ironic that YOU would bring that up.

Why don't we have a live Monday night listening thread for the pulp show, just like we do for the races?

Most listeners arent listening live, we listen over the course of the next couple days and skip the ads. The ads on the show aren't really a problem.

DV rules, he knocked Eli out of his normal interview mode.
I interpreted it more as Eli being kind and going along with it because DV could not stop himself from making the same 250f-argument over and over again.

I’m here for Eli on the 250. That just makes sense and I hope they do it. DV for USA team manager!

1. If you invite me on the show, I won't be a "yes, sir" guy, sit down and bite my tongue for 5 hours.

2. I will give my take on topics no matter what. I don't have any ties to anyone in the industry so I have the privilege to say things as I see them. I'm completely ok if you don't have the same views as I do

3. I'm not on the market to buy any BS anyone is selling

4. Some people will like what I say and some will say I'm a dick. It goes with the territory but I can handle it. It would be very easy to say whatever guests want to hear and to say things that go their way. But what's the point if I don't agree

5. I'm not a politician, I don't have to be elected to any position. I'm ok to be a divider for things I believe in our motocross world.

6. If guest callers want to do an informercial and have hosts tell them they're great, they can call back when politically correct hosts are on the show. There are many of those! I'm sorry people if I made some callers/listeners uncomfortable

7. I'm not selling anything or anyone so I don't need to rub anyone the right way for the image of my brand. I don't need industry money. I made SX/MX money (I won't make any more race bonuses) and I'm making my money independently. I can't make more money working in the industry as I do outside of it. I believe it's great to have that freedom to not have to watch what I say...
You can have a strong opinion and disagree with pretty much anybody without constantly interrupting and being disrespectful to sponsors (it's how the host makes his living, it doesn't matter if you like it or not, you don't pay his bills).

It's called having a conversation, and you kind of shit the bed on that a lot during this episode.

The Eli 250 thing is worthy of thought. Star bike, and I’ll bet he could really ride that thing. Then you have Sexton and (Anderson or Craig) on 450. Thinking of scores, I think that would come out the best. Whoever is on the 250 needs to be aggressive, fast guy who can make passes.

I enjoyed all 5hrs 18min of the show. DV is my favorite cohost right in front of RV. I would like Lucas to call back in next week and hear what he has to say, although that seems unlikely now.

What do you guys think the chances of DV being on the show ever again are? He doesnt really care to be there, Steve had to be a little annoyed, and tits and tater got out 18 minutes too late lol. Id also be curious if DV = better ratings/more listeners haha.

Normally, I just can't bring myself to listen to that 5 hour, ad heavy, narcissistic, juvenile ass kissing Bro -Show that makes up the Pulp MX Pod.

... but if Vuillemin is on spewing the truth I guess I need to listen to this episode.

Too bad David is not motivated enough to do his own podcast, although I guess he couldn't get any dirt bike related industry sponsors for it anyway because he tells it like it is...

It’s not what he said I think it’s just the manners of interrupting talking over etc. he’s always a great listen it’s just a delivery issue. If you’re broke or rich, manners and respect should come with the package love you DV ps I was at Indy sx and remember you doing a whip over the finish during practice. Insane timing and style👍

DV moved into the house across the street from me when he had just come over from France and I was a kid. That dude was absolutely awesome to me and my family, he did some really cool stuff for me.

This is the first time I’ve seen any media of him since his retirement. Good to see he’s still doing well. Love his insight and his sense of humor.

I usually do not watch/listen to Pulp. I can take only so much Matthes. Listening to DV made it worth it.

Matthes would be stupid to not bring DV back....the ratings must go thru the roof when he's on.

DV was funny as hell on Pulp. I couldn't disagree with his idea to put Eli on the 250 any more though

Fucking legend. I loved him talking over the agent, I don’t have much respect for those guys and I can tell DV doesn’t either.

Having said I love DV it is not very professional to talk over others just because you don't agree with them or don't respect them. Not saying DV did that because I have not listened to it. Just in general. I would guess all the top riders like and respect their agents? No?

DV is so damn blunt and honest. The more I listen to DV, the more I like DV. I don't think there's anyone who wants America to win the mxon more than friggin DV. I don't know that I agree with him about putting Tomac on the 250 for mxon, but I see the logic that HE SEES in it. Regardless, I like the shit out of DV.

The most interesting thing I got from the show is how the French aren't this tight knit bunch. Specially him and Dylan. Found it fucking bananas DV being so "cheap" why Dylan wouldn't just pay to keep him around After winning 3 titles. You'd think after a big injury Dylan would need him more than ever to come back strong

I for one enjoyed the hell out of that episode with DV. As for the interview with the agent, I have a difficult time trusting a person who repeatedly says "right" while speaking. Maybe I'm way off, maybe it's just a nervous tic, however, it comes off that they are insecure and looking for confirmation that they did/said the right thing, right? Tongue

I always have time to hear DV talk.
I don't think there's one picture of Jessica Patterson's bike that ever got more views than the one where it's not her riding it.

Quotes DV basically saying that he is who he is no apologies and suggests to him how to be a better co-host.

Talk about tone deaf.

DV: I don't give an efff what you think about me. I'm going to say what I'm thinking, and I don't care if it hurts your feelings.

Vital Reader: You know, people would like you more if you weren't so blunt and rude.

That was entertaining as fuck. Made my work day slip by real fast. I was asking the same question as DV at the end, "is it finished ?"

I never said he shouldn't say what he is thinking. You seem to have missed my point, so I'll summarize it for you:

Just because you like to speak your mind doesn't mean you can step over everyone and be a dick about it.

There. Talk about poor reading skills.

The point I was making is he basically said that is how he is and if you don't like it, he doesn't care.

DV is going to be blunt, talk over people and not hold anything back. Steve knows this when he books him, and he doesn't handcuff him on the show. He knows that DV is going to be a bull in a china shop and pretty much lets him go.

I love DV because he is raw and unfiltered, but if I worked with him or dealt with him every day, we would probably be throwing hands sooner or later. Best in manageable doses.

He talks way to much when it's the guests time to have the spotlight.
He talked over lucus mirtl so much.
And I don't even think savagty got 2 sentences in. When listening I thought savagty was just a random caller.
So that was not good. I think mirtl was pretty pissed off.
That's what makes it so awesome though !! He doesn't give a shit about the show time frame or who he may hurt he's just full big-bore lol !!!
