In addition, read up on The Jones Act and how a 100 year old idea makes a large percentage of US Oil essentially worthless due to shipping cost.

I’ve been riding and racing sporadically for the past 8 years or so after a break in my 20s. I raced locally 14 times last year which was the most I have since 2006. Decided I would hit some vet and National races this year since there’s sometimes only one or two other guys that show up for +30A and the local races sometimes don’t really excite me anymore. I’m a single dude that owns a house with a regular job. The difference in filling my express 2500 at $60 last summer versus $120 or more this summer will definitely have an impact on my racing. That could easily be another couple hundred dollars a weekend which is hard to swing when you’re already making sacrifices in every aspect of life to go racing.

$142 to fill my truck last night and it wasn't even completely empty. Thankfully my wife talked me into going last night because as of 6:40 this morning, prices went up another 30 cents.

Edit: As of today 3/8, it’s now up to $5.69.

It already happening the rates have crashed. I know people think a trucking co is a driver and a dispatcher. There is quite a few office workers per 1 driver. More and more office workers r loosing there jobs everyday. Co.s hv been going bankrupt for months high fuel prices r just dropping them faster. trucking is the 1st to take the plunge everything else follows. Railyards hv been dead since 2018 I saw this morning 1 was starting to pu up
In Chicago. Railyards hv a little to do with the higher prices remember the bums operate off federal money. Fuel goes up it goes on a train. I ran a 28 cylinder locomotive plowing gas lines in, easy job. There building new section 8 really nice apartments tho for welfare folks. New cars with free fuel cards, etc

My family owns a wrecker and towing company and $120 runs are now $150 and we are making no more money at that.

If prices go too high (and they may already be there) it will crash the economy. That is sure going to impact racing plans.

Time to start some “Moto Commutes” to save some coin and keep doing what we love!

Drove thru Bridgeport, California, on Monday night: I saw $6.79/gallon. A little later I filled up for $4.63/gallon in Reno.

This is getting silly; but, it’s the reality of things and we’re jus gonna have to deal with it…for now.

I know its different from the oil embargo days of the 70s, but it sure reminds me of the era and this guy's response:

What we would do for gas prices from back then, even if we were only getting 10 miles to the gallon. Unfortunately, the enviro-wars that seem to be getting fought probably mean that politicos are happy to see prices rise rather than the opposite.

I don’t need to see the bullshit talking points, I work in the field everyday. I usually deal with natural gas pipelines but have installed other petroleum lines. The current Potato has been vocally hostile to the oil industry since the basement campaign. This permit game is just a way to cover a politician’s ass and give plausible deniability.
I’ve seen a 6 mile natural gas pipeline shut down over the denial of one wetland crossing permit. What energy company wants to invest millions in a project when one permit denial can prevent you from connecting your line? The politicians can say they greenlighted the project while having their minions at the EPA and Army Corp of Engineers deny one permit.

What a difference one week made in the comments.
Better buckle up Buttercup, it's gonna be a rough one.
Kicking myself in the ass for not buying 55 gallons of 100 octane AVGAS last spring @ $3.00 a gallon when my buddies told me to!

Army Corp of engineers r idiots Michel pipeline who I worked for 88-98 designs there projects. The epa is a lib organization that can be paid off. It goes threw a channel of people. For numerous world record hhg projects. Depending on the project and what goes wrong is the cash that is due but it is negotiable. If your paying organized crime 1 mil to be in there area and 250k a week. Our Vietnam vet job cordinater talked down on people real bad, we laughed and said the mob guy is gonna beat you next week. I,ll handle it get 900 tax free on my check and I,ll put the 250k in his hand and everything is good. The payment is for taking 3 blocks of the st they own , numerous properties for supplies needed, guard a 40 ace dump site, etc. super cool guys it’s just buisness on the east coast. I only had to call him once to get a small mod guy out of our hair that was threatening to put a cap in everyone’s head. There on call 24/7 he says you want me send the boys ? A diff family was used to clear up a huge union strike. 550 mil projects in 94 everybody wants a piece of the pie. One of these extremely powerful mob families was setup. Told to Flip, for prosecutors in exchange for expungement of past misdeeds. A pardon for the new crimes Merlino committed. So organized crime was in a pinch and had to conduct a master plan to fix the election in Phily. Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, etc they also had teams of people trained by the phily mob. Election folks where paid and if you don’t follow orders you will b dealt with, that’s just how it is. They only made a few mil. They actually made more money from us in 94 April- oct. But the legal pressure is released. that’s why biden stayed in the basement and didn’t campaign, he didn’t hv to. Ps I,m not in any mob family but I had to deal with them for yrs. and No it’s not like the soprano,s at all. You should b shocked of all the stuff they hv part control of. Just like the fuel tax if you think it’s broke down to %,s like it is setup to b. Your a total fool the fed is super scooping and the rest of the tax is set at a small rate. A state is not getting 22% of 5.89 they will get 22% of 2.89

Certainly affecting riders in the UK. Diesel is now £2 ($2.63) a liter. I know a lot of people who are packing in MX and going to enduro where there's less travel required to ride.

What will be really awesome is when the gas will drop to $4-5gal before the midterms and all the administration apologists will tout graphs and statistics showing prices are down 30%. Yay vote for us! It’s the equivalent of the terrible child who is well behaved for a day and he gets treats and toys. The Overton Window strategy works so well on the uninformed and short-sighted.

If this is a ploy to get people to purchase electric vehicles etc. They'll eventually succeed and then do the same thing to us for the price of electricity down the road.

Someone is getting rich and it's not us!

Imagine having solar on your home and a electric vehicle. That would suck.

That solar payment is more than my monthly electric bill during the middle of summer. Don't qualify for any of the special programs. So yeah, having solar and an electric vehicle would suck.

So would California telling me I can't charge my vehicle and use my a/c because the power grid can't handle everyone trying to charge their vehicles and live normal life at the same time.

It's not free to install solar. In my area it's 30-40k to install solar and charging for a family of electric vehicles. Not to mention my state is talking of charging solar homes by the kw to raise more funds. Plus the premium of buying new vehicles that are sold at prices significantly higher than a gas equivalent.. oh and higher insurance cost for electric vehicles.

Cost are even more if it's an older home and that is assuming someone is wealthy enough to own a home and doesn't live somewhere where they don't have any access to home solar charging like an appointment complex.
