"TRIUMPH ANNOUNCE THEIR INTENT TO ENTER THE MOTOCROSS AND ENDURO WORLDS

Triumph Motorcycles is excited to announce that development is well underway on a comprehensive range of all-new competition Motocross and Enduro motorcycles."

Wow. Great to have another brand on the gate. Can't wait to see what they bring to the table.

I always thought it a little odd when they brought Carmichael on board - a smart move regardless. Makes a lot more sense now!

This announcement has made me want to run out and buy a Triumph road bike. Haven't had a street bike for years, but I like what they're doing and hadn't really been following, until now....

The press release is pointless without pictures of said bikes. Huge let down 😔

This is nuts!
So long as they’re at least on par with the Suzuki I will buy one and get a triumph road bike to. Rule Britannia 🇬🇧

Serious question.. Are they developing a new bike from the ground up or do they have connections to KTM?

A lot of (most) Triumphs bikes are built in Thailand, but developed in Hinkley UK. There's factory at HHinkley, but they produce around 4500 bikes per year which are protoypes and specialists models. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

One presumes they must have development models already. Whether they been testing or not who knows.

I've always been shocked with how he acts on this board when he and his username are tied to such a brand. I definitely steer clear of it now days.

Great news! Seems like they’re serious about it by bringing in RC and Cervantes. Hopefully they build their own bikes and can have success in the long run.

Sadly, I’ve done the same thing. This is something positive for the sport of motocross, so why the negativity?

Comparing Harley to Triumph is like comparing Buick to Audi.

Totally different mindsets. One company is sporty and forward-looking, the other is staid and too focused on comfort.

The actual bike was under the Buell banner and if the economy didn't tank it would most likely have succeeded. At the time H-D was looking to expand and also bought MV Agusta.

It's fun to make fun of Harley but use facts.

Same. All I ran was engine ice until I joined this board.

Did anyone see an expected release date?

This is fantastic news! More bikes, more rides! Great for the sport and I wish them success. Very interested to see how it’ll pan out. New bike developed from ground up or bought patented parts?

Having worked as a Triumph dealer for 4 years some time ago I would expect them to develop something entirely on their own. Very sporty brand with aggressive marketing style and daring to take risks. Much of the same recipe in the road community that brought KTM success in the off-road world.

I know everyone will disagree but I would still love to see another company have a 350 with the aluminum frame.

I’m guessing he was referring to a much earlier attempt by Harley at entering the MX arena…think bowling balls/running gear…

Well with fading appeal of street bikes they have to do something. Reinvent or die is business of today. Everything is changing so rapidly. I would have picked e bikes for that brand though.

My first Gen Triumph 675's were great and beautiful machines. Gawd that triple engine hum was intoxicating. I miss them. I have faith in triumph developing a great bike.
