Impressive - would be a bit of understatement in my opinion

I'm a huge Cairoli fan...and hope he does well this season, but damn! Tim Gajser is on it for sure.

Is this another one of his local races? J/k

Impressive!! GoPro will be pumped to have that. Reminded me of some of those early Stew gopros when he was slicing through the pack.

It’s going to be pretty hard to top that GoPro footage this season. Amazing ride Gajser!

He's carrying so much more momentum while getting through the pack he honestly looks like he's just floating. Great line choice and decision making all the way to the front. Fun to watch.

Some one need to tell him that you cant go fast with a neck brace AND knee braces,

It sounds like he never even twist the throttle halfway! You can see him in some rutty sections going slower at first just to be sure to put his wheels in the right spot so he can get all the power to the ground to then go twice as fast. As the saying goes: Sometimes you need to go slow to go fast.

I've never been a huge Gajser fan, but that's just poetry in motion for an old-school MX:er.

After watching that I am comfortable calling him the FMOTP right now in motocross....that was amazing. He's riding that 450 like very few humans can....

What's really impressive is how nasty and rutted (and hardpack) that track is, and you can hear him just working the clutch in some sections. Gajser is a beast....the only guy in the US like that is Eli (back when he was "on").

This is not to minimize what Roczen and Ferrandis are doing (or the fact that they race 39 other guys, not 19 others), but I don't see them just raging through the field on the same level as TIGA243. I honestly think he would win our nationals right now if he came stateside...

This just reminds me of how much it sucks there's no helmet cam footage from the nationals anymore. One thing I always looked forward to after a race weekend.

Yep. I don’t even think he’d get much of a challenge, this year especially. Tim seems to be peaking while our field is an absolute mess. Very hard to pick anyone over Tim even on their best day out of the 2021 National riders. His ride here is one for the ages.

The most interesting part to me is at exactly 3.21 when he scrubs hard on the face of the jump and makes up literally two bike lengths on Herlings. It looked like Gajsers side of the track was slightly browner dirt so maybe he had more grip on his front tyre to scrub. Either way very impressive. I also love the panic rev he gave Herlings over the next jump! Laughing

His riding style is the polar opposite of Barcia.

My thought exactly. Looked like all the jumps were set up to flat land and soil looked terrible....

Anyhow Tim looked great. Haven't been following that closely but is Herlings injured again? I'm sure he was going fast but looked slow the way Gajser caught and passed him.

Line selection masterclass. Track looks sketchy, high speed, concrete ruts.

It was Herlings’ first GP after his major neck injury. I think he is racing himself back into race shape. Gajser rode brilliant though!
